When I first found jimmy on twitter I was all like "Gosh, he's super handsome! I'd have never thought!"

Only later did I find out his twitter avatar at that time was some tennis player.

ha you got my post deleted, you must know people in power to do that so quick.

or you used your multiple accounts to get it automatically deleted by complaining enough times.

you really do run this place, quite sad

biggest problem on forum is lack of excitement and enthusiasm about tennis. guess it comes with limited number of users but seriously is difficult to find person to have some good convo about tennis stuff, players etc.seems like no one cares about tennis here lol. which is big shame but is just reality and not much to seethe about ,just pointless sometimes to come here.

forum slowly started to die since darlo gone.thats the real reason of forum descent

The problem I have. Is when I post a separate informative thread. About the only active user I see who doesn't post in the mega thread is bb66. So he is about the only person it's easy to take serious when they say the mega thread is stopping them from posting. There are probably a few others (DStyle maybe), but they are few and far between.

A large majority of the people complaining have no real intent to have any discussion at all, and just what the information in the forum laid out in an easier manner for them. Basically they want the forum to their liking without having to do any of the work to get it to that point.

Besides the reason the mega thread come about in the first place. Is because you used to have situation where you'd have like 3 match threads going on at once and you'd get like 20 posts in each. People weren't interested. Plus if you look at the other forums they are all pretty much dead too. The football forum would used to get like 200-300 posts on like a 2. Bundesliga match, now that's what it gets on Man Utd playing.

so where has everyone suddenly gone then, 3 years ago was alive and kicking, what have i missedConfused

DStyle probably made the most reasoned argument, and I think most the reasonable posters realise this. Most the people who start these type of threads tend to be the super trolls who would add nothing no matter how the forum was setup.
By:

When: 06 Sep 14 15:35
Because membership is effectively closed and has been for about 2 years.

So how many posters from 3 years ago are still active now? Less than 50% probably.

The daily setup is different to say grand slam semi final day on a Saturday too. The forum reached a point where the majority of days it was the same group of posters posting across multiple threads. If there only about 3 of you active at one point of the day that is incredibly tiresome.

Because someone spambotted the forum and kept creating new accounts. Or something like that.

That's the #1 reason for a lack of users. It was completely closed until about 6 months ago, when now they have a new policy of allowing people to post on the forum. But most people who fit their new policy probably already have forum accounts (it's basically that you have to be an active bettor over a period of 6 months I think).

If you go in smaller sub-forums than this one. Eg. the boxing forum. The exact same thing happens there, except there's a group of about 5 people just having discussions, and instead of their threads being named as mega threads they are called whatever the next big fight is. Of course this setup is more viable when you only have like one discussion point every few weeks.

I added one of the few reasonable and measured pre-match posts.
