It always amazes me how raw players can be at net. I guess our coaching is crap in this country, but you see promising youngsters who literally don't have a clue at net, and miss the most basic volleys, that I can't imagine people in this country missing.

I almost wonder is it because these players so good off the ground, that when growing up they never see the need to come forward.

There's not having a net game though, and having what some of these players have.
Sharapova clearly hates the net, I still see her hit competent volleys. From what I've seen of Lottner she can't even hit a volley that's floated well above the net. |
