Why Lleyton is valued so high? At next round he will play vs Del Potro who isn't still at best of his condition (he had difficulty vs Garcia Lopez and seems that is still injuried) and moreover Hewitt has won the last match at Queen's in three sets.
Hewitt saw vs Baker has played very well and after Del Potro could play vs Donskoy or Gojowczyk (very easy match) and at round 4 vs probably Tommy Haas. Hewitt leads 6-4 against Tommy.
I believe that is a great opportunity because the value will get off at least @150.

What is your opinion? Thank you.

My opinion is that he won't be DelPo in a million years.

Delpo is still injuried, he has given all of himself to defeat Garcia Lopez in four set!

Why Lleyton is valued so high?
Because he will likely have to beat Delpo, some mug, Haas/Youzhny, Novak, Murray/Berdych and Rafa/Fed. Unless there are big upsets in this tourney and the draw really opens up, you're better off backing him match by match if you really believe in him.

I'm not so silly to think that Hewitt could win Us Open 2013 but I believe that his path at least to achieve 4 round isn't impossible and that the value will be very interesting if beats Delpo.

Thank you to both for your answers!

being in 4th rd he would still be about 800 outright

sry, this price should apply after he made QF if None of the named is out, and assuming DelPo was beaten by some injury issues

He will probably face: Del Potro / Haas / Djokovic / Murray / Nadal before getting his hands on the trophy.

Not in a million years :)

For Hewitt to make it to the 4th round he needs to beat DelPo and Donskoy/Gojowczyk.
The odds to beat DelPo are 7.2 atm.
If he gets past him the odds in the next round will not be lower than 1.3 imo, so you get combined odds for these two matches at around 9.4.

To get better return by backing Hewitt at 1000 now and laying him before his 4th match you need to be able to lay him below ~107.  He'd still be facing Haas/Youzh/Dolgo, Djok, Murray and Nadal most likely and my average estimate for his 4th round outright comes to over 120.  This means two things:
(1) Either you should be backing Hewitt at odds higher than 1000 to get ~fair~ price (otherwise backing Hewitt in individual matches offers greater return), or
(2) You are speculating that at least one of the big names gets eliminated in the next two rounds and Hewitt's odds drop faster than currently expected.

Only you know what applies to you here.

Thank you for the answer!

I share your opinion, my dream is that in the night Hewitt will beat Delpo and then I'll see what to do.
I believe that if Hewitt win then his value will drop at least @150.
We can't forget that Delpo is the fifth favourite for the market, around @18!
It would be important that one of Murray,Nadal,Federer or Djoko could be eliminated prematurely but seeing the draw I don't see how one of them could be defeated by someone of opponents.

Another important thing is that Hewitt is a kind of player that doesn't suffer Delpo's play and that Hewitt is hot and Delpo isn't at the best of condition, I can hazard that Delpo is at 50%/60% of condition.

mouse trap has analysed the situation perfectly and even though individual matches might be the better value if you fancy hewitt to beat Delpo ,theres some satisfaction in seeing mega green in the outright marketSilly , even if it will never be realised Sad

Well said mate  I didn't think he had a chance myself
Old Del Boy really does get on my tits though had one of my biggest wins when he won the u s.   now he looks just as miserable when he wins as loses.  Just don't seem to give a fu ck

wd if you made it on match odds as advised, no chance outright to make good profit if you weren't lucky to be matched already @200. He might even go out next rd being exhausted, rd 4 the most likely exit point

But it wasn't. You'd have made far, far more backing Hewitt in the match markets than what is basically a 3-1 shot so far.

missed the Youzhny v Hewitt game what was the lowest he (Hewitt)traded outright and in the match ?

did he trade lower than 200 at the end of the third/start of the fourth ?

poster put up a decent selection and you cant get any bigger than 1000/1 so fair play but it does highlight the long odds pitfalls

if he had won in five what price would be be now  ?  same as youzhny  400 ish ?
