Murray won the last time they played on grass (Olympics) but Novak won last time they played in a grand slam (Aus) so I wouldn't put anyone off backing anyone.

I personally can see Djokovic having a Rafa/RG style domination on that tournament for years to come

The Serbian is no MUG, however I have believed he would and backed Murray to win this tourney, before it even started and I think he will win this Sunday. The best 2 players in the world and they should provide the same feast of Tennis to what has been seen today. Murray, has not lost his temper this year, when things haven't gone his way. He will obviously have the great British public supporting him as well and would have probably won last years tourney, but for the roof going over. Now the roof will not be going over this Sunday, as a hot sunny day is forecast. I'll predict a 3-2 Murray win, which would be a great way for him, to beat his closest Tennis friend and for all the British fans of Tennis.

whoever wins I'm certainly going to lay the hell out of any low Murray odds - he's wobbled plenty of times against the joker

Murray to take the first set only to still be odds against like at the Aus Open and then lose.

you murray backers are using the olympics as a reason to back him. dear o dear. some right donkeys have won the olympics.........the players dont plan for this bloody thing........they just turn up and see what happens.
Report chilipepper July 6, 2013 12:04 AM BST
Isn't this forum mostly british hence biased towards Murray? It is a tight match with Djokovic rightfully slight favorite, maybe 1.70-1.75 would be more fair as the crowd would probably cheer even on double faults or missed first serves.

If I do not know who is going to win, I just listen to what aaronh said. Then I compute the result and bet accordingly. NEVER missed!

Novak being made to change his shoes that gave him better grip on the grass LaughLaughLaugh
Report stu July 6, 2013 11:44 AM BST
Very close match with positives for both:

Djoko: Rightly number 1 player in world, playing well, beat Murray last meeting.

Murray: Best surface for him is grass, Djoko had tougher Semi physically, beat Djoko last time on surface, home support.

I'd say true (ish) odds should be evens the pair - so Murray is the bet at odds against. Easy this one to work out. Grin

Murray 3-2.

nice match it will be. trading rollercoaster.

have some feeling that maybe Djoker didn't show all he can vs. Delboy but not really sure.

it was a bit like RG final when Djoko had lapses in his game and was exhausted in the end.

Looks like he's not the same SUPERMAN as he was in 2011. This hard physical match vs. Del Boy should affect him I guess.

so on one hand we have Murray + crowd, home soil, motivation and on the other hand we have tired Djoker.. well well well...

im on muzza my mates on djokco, im a pro trader hes not u do the math who will win lol. Only time he ever beats me in tennis punting is when djocko malicates nadal on hardcourt
Report lurka July 6, 2013 12:36 PM BST
why do people say that Murray's best surface is grass? Is it because he's British and they just assume it is? His record on hard courts is clearly better.
Report tweedy July 6, 2013 12:41 PM BST
Bhoys are you laying Murray to start?
Report stu July 6, 2013 12:50 PM BST

This market all about price for me, make them around evens pair then it's no-bet. At prices, Murray everytime.
Report brain dead jockeys July 6, 2013 1:16 PM BST
evens the pair for 6 time GS winner/tennis legend joko VVVVVVVVVV scottish 1 win from 6 GS finals andy murray............u mugs are hilarious.........joko should be 2/5
Report lurka July 6, 2013 1:18 PM BST
maybe he said that, but i'm just going on win/loss career stats and his record on hard is better and he's kept it up over a much larger number of matches and had more success on hard courts (but that is natural as grass matches are rare).

Djok is the same and has just as good a record on grass. I wouldn't say Murray has any edge over Djok on grass really but I agree the price should be nearer and therefore Murray is value. Expect Murray's price to shorten when the patriotic money goes on - good chance for a trade before it starts
Report The Bhoys July 6, 2013 1:22 PM BST
tweedy no I will be laying djoko 3-0 as that's my usual bet when these to meet
