Challengers on Betfair

this question has been asked millions of times but the answer is something along the lines of 'integrity issues' - basically they think it's untrustworthy and too susceptible to fixing - funny considering they offer markets in sports like Peruvian second division etc, no real reason but thats the line they give

I've been on here for a long time, and I have never seen Betfair offer any of those markets.

If the tennis powers that be are content to sell streaming rights and live scoring rights to bookmakers (or partners of) then they have no real recourse if the integrity of the sport is compromised by any betting outlet.

Am I right in saying they also delay live scores on their own official websites so they can coin it in by selling instant scores to bookmakers for the sole purpose to enable in running betting.

Silverback, yes they do that, they sell the info to a company called enetpulse who supply the info to bookies. The info used to come direct from the umpire's scorekeeper to us but now they give it to enetpulse and delay it for the rest of us.

Betfair do not stand to lose any money from dodgy fixed matches, they can only profit from commissions, they never lose money like a bookie can. But I think the issue is that if they have markets for challenger matches then that in itself will result in more fixed matches as it gives the fixers a better outlet to bet on than a bookie.

Yes, it would give the fixers a better outlet. (Theoretically it could also be monitored better)

But I suppose my point was more general as opposed to being strictly about betfair. To achieve their own financial gain, the tennis authorities themselves have created the scope for so much Challenger betting in the first place with their live pictures and live scores aimed specifically at the betting market. They're hugely hypocritical
