she'll have a hard time beating serena, aza or even masha, but with her consistency she'll have a good chance in tournaments like this one when someone else takes them out for her. and serena won't be around forever and vika is very injury prone so there should be more chances for her.

where does the petra vulture stuff come from? at her peak, 2011, she beat all the top players and won both Wimbledon and YEC. The only one she didn't beat was Serena who was out with injury at the time. She can be major mug at times, but she's far from a vulture.
Because all she does these days is turn up for events where the big names don't (by turn up I mean play good tennis and win). Then every time her fans get excited and proclaim she's back and then when the big guns are back, she's back to flopping.
Plus she schedules like a real vulture. She overplays massively. The only player who's playing more tournaments a year than her in the top 10 is Wozniacki. Last year she went hard after the USO series and then was completely burned out by the time the US Open come around. You'd think she'd learn from that, yet this year she's scheduled to play 4 consecutive weeks before USO.
At the end of the day if you think you are a contender for grand slams you should never be playing an event like New Haven unless you've been out injured or whatever.

Still don't think that makes her a vulture. I will agree that it's not wise to play New Haven, especially if you've had a good US Series leading up to it where you've had enough match play, but would think that was more about greed for money (winning US Open series gives you chance at bonus if you do well at USO) than greed for cheap points. In the end playing New Haven was probably short sighted since it might have ruined her chances at a good run at USO, but it's still not vulturing.
n88uk is just jealous 'coz kivi is so superb comparing to aza, so he's always trying to say bad words about kivi :)

I suppose it comes down to what your definition of vulture is: Mine is someone who is very consistent against mugs, but has a very poor record against the top players. Going for cheap points by entering and winning mug tournaments also gives you vulture status. With Petra 2012/13 I just think it's a case of bad/inconsistent form and maybe poor scheduling, but she has shown in the past that she is not a vulture by dominating the best players when playing well, unlike players like Ferrer, Errani and Radwanska who have never done this, and imo you don't get the vulture tag just because you're in bad form/a decline.
exactly
kivi owns most of top10 players when she's not in UE mode

Why the frosty handshake at the end of the match? Is there some 'previous' between these 2 or something that went on during the match that upset A Rad?
Not that I know of. According to a press conference transcript I read, Aga was just mad that she has lost.

well, it was aga's best chance to win grand slam.
she had 3-0 lead in final set but managed to waste it. no wonder she was mad like hell.
but she should blame herself for this. she should be grateful that sabine gave her chance to win the match tbh..

Greed for money is pretty much another form of vulturing.
Also you make the mistake once, and then do the same thing even worse next year. Well that doesn't make any sense does it?
