Watched his demolition of an on-form Almagro so was hoping to get on him around 1.5+ against Melzer... but 1.27? Anyone else think this is way short?

Last week Jerzy lost on grass to world rank 220 Mirza Basic of Bosnia and his pro record against top 100 lefties is poor.

I want to be backing him but at this price surely value is on the other side? any thoughts?

had him 1.4 at best, think he will go bigger as Melzer can start well with his experience.

he looks to have an "easy" route to SF anyway and sounds like the other threats are crocked

all the time I thought Yurek = polish Jürgen = Melzer = Mugzer
why you call Jerzy = Yurek? Cry

Yeah when you look at Andy's half of the draw it is hard to see a player that could take a set off him, let alone beat him.  Jerzy could edge a tight set against Andy, but win, doubt it.

He should beat Melzer but I wouldn't be backing at those odds.  Definitely worth a lay to see if Melzer can get off to a good start, maybe win the first set.  I tend to think 3-1 Jerzy here, but he could lose unexpectedly at any time.  He is not a reliable and consistent player, just a promising one, who is benefiting from the exit of Federer, Nadal, Cilic, Tsonga, Isner etc.

Don't understand how he's so much shorter than Berdy though. If either of them are to win it, they'll both have to beat Djoker, and surely one would give Berdy the better chance of that no?

why you call Jerzy = Yurek?

Jerzy (Polish pronunciation: [ˈjɛʐɨ]) is the Polish version of the masculine given name George. The most common nickname for "Jerzy" is "Jurek" (pronounced: "Yurek").

he lacks consistency to be so short

thanks mouse trap. but afaik the german name "Jürgen" also translates as "Jurek" into Polish. English "George" should be just "Georg" or "Jörg" in German... but Jörg nearly sounds as Jürgen again :D
Anyway, now I know the forum here means Janowicz with "Yurek" Cool
my apologies to Mr. Janowicz, all the time I seethed about "Yurek" in the past days it was because of Mugzer beating my selections Laugh
