How did you guys like this tournament? Sure, the expected faces won, but I thought it was a nice tournament overall. Not as nice as the Australian Open are every year, but better than Wimbledon is gonna be. God I hate Wimbledon Laugh

J.A. Adande ‏@jadande 29m
McEnroe, referring to half-naked flare-waving nut earlier, asked Nadal about "the crazy idiot who ran on the court" & Rafa said "Usain?"

Not Roger Federer ‏@PseudoFed 1h

Personally I have always preferred the number 7 over the number 8 #8

didn't watch much, used to love rg and wimbledon most but generally they're both bit overrated because of atmosphere. and prefer the wee hours of the day plus AO most fun

Will not go down as one of my favorite slams. Betting wise it was my worst one in a while (still did ok), tv coverage was poor and there were problems with Agasport here on many occasions for instance they have this problem with the sound where you can hear crowd noice before the point is finished on screen and therefore it's no fun to watch since you know the point will finish within 2 seconds when you hear that. Players that I'm not a big fan of, Serena & Rafa, winning, didn't help either.

I never really got a connection to Wimbledon. Maybe because it wasn't freely available to watch when I first got into tennis, while the others were on free, public channels.

i started watching in '84. Swe-USA Davis Cup final in that year is my first tennis memory. This match was so epic, Henrik Sundström vs John McEnroe 13-11, 6-4, 6-3

I'm sure Boris, Steffi and Stich were on public tv, but eventually interest stopped, public channels weren't interested in giving Wimbledon the money they wanted and so the rights were sold to Pay-TV. I also really got into tennis relatively late. Except for the occasional David Cup clash I didn't really watch any during the 90s.

I remember DC final in 85 (West Germany vs Sweden). When Edberg won the final rubber he celebrated by jumping over the net. This of course inspired a young caramba who tried to celebrate in the same fashion after having won a tennis match, but it sadly didn't go that well, and it was on asphalt so it hurt pretty bad.

so there's some truth to that caramba cat book, even though I'm sure it's purely coincidental.
