not to mention Haas dismissed Sock rather easily and quickly yesterday nice and early and so therefore he has had a nice break to recover since (compared to Isners marathon 5 setter which he eventually won 8-6 in the 5th). Haas movement and moving Isner around the court will be key to him winning here, he can execute shots with precision and is good at rallying, Isner has no chance if his serve or forehand fails.

isner might have a good seving day and drive haas mad,the downside of haas is mental,he could lose the plot if isner can get it to tiebreaks

Isner serving yesterday was rather awful. he went some sets without hitting any Ace's at all. Haas (imo) is strong mentally, he usually handles big points, BP's and MP's very well. He can get a bit down on himself if he starts playing poorly in general so i understand your point but I just dont think Isner has the weapons to trouble and even more so i think the weapons Haas's are Isner's nightmare. (all round good players who can rally well and execute dropshots very well)

Im trying to find a reason not to back Haas as opposed to why I should back Isner, i can't seem to really find it.

Isner playing again today after a 5 setter yesterday - surely has to be yet another mark against his chances here.
By:
1.35 against Isner is never value.
At least 1 or two sets will go to tie break so John might easily steal a set. |
By:
it is on clay against someone who's got a read on his serve.
By:
how do you know atleast 1 set or two sets will go to tie break. yesterdays tie break (ifyou watched it) ryan beat him in the Tie break
By:
unless Isner serve is atleast 80%, dont see him doing much im afraid
By:
Isner loves the clay, has said it noumerous times in his interviews. It gives him more time to prepare for his shots, let's not forget he won against Federer on clay and took Nadal to 5 sets in Roland Garros in 2011

come on dani_, that's an unfair comparisson, Isner of 2011 >>> Isner of today

I love how this market constantly attempts to push up Tommy's price

By:
can Isner really play 10 sets in the space of 30 hours and perform as consistently in the last as he does in the first?
By:
i'm surprised he's actually played as well as he has today (so far)
