I think that's a good observation edy. It's probably why we see so many silly missed smashes - when they're waiting for the ball to drop, the rhythm goes, thoughts enter the players' heads etc.
I don't know about tennis but when I play football it works like that for me. When I'm playing a match, the quality of everything I do is on average vastly better than it is when just casually kicking a ball around, and that's because instinct takes over. |
