I would think so, but supposedly it's good for tourism, but such things are hard to measure. And sometimes countries are happy to host just to show off how rich they are, like Germany in 2011 (just my theory). But it's expensive to even compete, for instance Poland isn't even in it this year because they spent all their money on Euros last year.

in the past they have always announced sf winner after the final, and we only get to know which countries qualified today and thursday.
