never know why the receiving player gets the benefit of the doubt in terms of odds in that situation.

why dont you take advantage of it? since you disagree with it and you believe odds should go in a certain way, exploit the error and make £££

has enough silly debates on here today. Go check the stats they disprove the theory you refer to.

same as you saing that before tiebreak in for example 3rd set player should be pre match odds like 1.1 for example
By:

When: 14 Apr 13 17:31
and you making crucial mistake. player who is 1.1 pre match is not winning 90 of the 100 points in the match ,does he?

andersons UE's may pave the way to him losing today. unless he reduces these silly errors where there is no need to make them he will find it difficult to win

15-15 is a slightly more advantageous situation for the receiver than 0-0.

(I'm assuming the game to which you refer was Robredo's service game.)

why is it not a slightly more advantageous situation for the server?

he would have been on 30-40 by now. could have easily broke this game

anderson is very very very nervous. expect him to crack in the late stages of the set if it stays this way with robredo pointing his nose out

because in every game, the server has a higher chance of winning the game (due to the nature that he is serving, this is also backed up in statistics, rarely do players win more than 50% of return games)...being at 15-15 means that is being defied and the with concern to that game, the returner is doing better than he should, because it is 15-15, and not what it is expected to be (30-15) or (15-0)

By:

I disagree with that theory. They are both a point closer to winning the game.
By:
AZ91
When: 14 Apr 13 17:42
so therefore, the returner SO FAR has achieved 50% of the points in the game, not the usual return percetnage of games won (30% or so)

The server is more likely to win any single point, so if the players are level on points at any point in a game then the receiver has outperformed the mean expectation of points won for them at that stage of the game.

Yes, which favours the receiver. If games were first to 100 points, how many breaks would we see?

indeed, they are both closer to winnin the game, but the returner is not supposed to win the game as many times as the server, he is supposed to win 20%-30% of return games, sometimes even less...not 50%, by winning 1 of 2 points (15-15), he has won 50% of points while returning, going against the trend

Really surprised you don't see this SoA, when you pay so much attention to stats. Market movements always reflect it too.
By:
AZ91
When: 14 Apr 13 17:46
returners are much more likely to break a server when it is duece, compared to when it is 0-0, even though they are both on equal points
