Didn't Linford win Barca 92 gold at 32 or 33? I think its an English mentality that sportsmen are done at 30, If beckham had stayed at Man Utd hed have retired years ago..

I think its an English mentality that sportsmen are done at 30, If beckham had stayed at Man Utd hed have retired years ago.. what like ryan giggs did. you didn't think that thru did you !!! Tommy has had a wretched time with injury so nice to see him enjoying an indian summer. he would have been a permanent fixture at the top of the game if not for missing whole seasons at a time. wasn't he ranked 2 or 3 at the time of his first bad injury? |

not sure about that I guess Ferrer has just spend 2? weeks of training on hardcourt since southamerica - if he has time to play the forehand the surface does not matter but the backhand under pressure could be the key also as a very precise backhand longline by haas to punish Ferrer for going inside out.

might get some better draws now he has a higher ranking
feck me he only has 125 points to defend in the next 3 slams, would only need one decent draw and get a R4, QF in one of them to make a big improvement could get up there this year |

It was his fifth comeback - both ancles, shoulder 2 times, hip, ellbow - coming back into the top 10 or close to it in all attempts and beating the top guys again - Federer, Djokovic, Tsonga, Berdych, Cilic, Almagro etc. is a carreer achievement which is hardly comparable. I gues i've said this before but he was missing so many years where others were able to improve their tennis.
And I'm reapeating my self again saying that Haas, Nalbandian and (Gonzalez) are all time greats for me - Haas at least has beaten the legends of the current generation also as the legends of the previous one - he is 4:6 vs Agassi, 3:5 vs Sampras, 3:10 vs Federer and 3:4 vs Djokovic - I don't have to metion that nadal got very luky winning in straight sets vs haas 5 times.  |

he's been a bit unlucky with the GS draws lately. Kohlschreiber 1st round at Wimbledon, Morrillo King Gulbis 1st round at USO and Nieminen 1st round at AO. Although he should have won some of those, there are definitely easier 1st round opponents out there. Bo5 could be an issue at later stages of the slams though should he make it that far.

Gulbis was really on fire in the fifth set haas was playing good at the us open and in delray beach - and raonic is unbeatable in san jose, he was not only serving above HIS average but also had 15-20 return winners. One break he got were 4 return winners.
