If Federer plays like he did today then its a great price
By:
They said the same at us open.price was way shorter and berdy wiped the floor with him really
By:
Not sure he "wiped the floor" with him in the US Open, Federer broke Berdych' very first service game, then a couple of games later Federer went missing for about a set and a half. Berdych was the better player on the day and deserved to win, but Federer played way below his best and Berdych was close to the highest standard he can play.
As for this match, well as Hollywood has said, if Federer plays the way he did against Davydenko it should be an easy win for him. Having said that, Berdych is a bad match up for Federer and their matches are usually close. |

I thought Fed was a great SP today against Davy. Was it 1.14? 1.37 looks massive. When I've seen them play, Fed seems to have the working of Berdy.

By:
shiraz he completely broke down the federer backhand and forehand, errors all over the place

Federer's rate of UE production - and the spectacular nature of them - in their match at the USO was remarkable. I'd never seen anything like it. I doubt he'll do the same this time; he was seriously off on that night.

Yer Fed needs to be careful to not get involved in the ping pong tennis he got involved in at USO. Break him up with slices etc. At USO he just tried to outslug him from the back of the court, and his backhand just completely buckled under the pressure Berdych was aiming towards it.

fed's fh was off that day harry, and his ego got the better of him when he tried to go toe to toe with berdych's.
so not such much a case of berdych's breaking it down, but rather that it was already broken before he came on court. it's becoming more common, i guess as he practices less, but his career has always been about wanting to play at a certain level, with no plan b. i hold no opinion on this price right now, but it's one which i suspect will quickly become wrong once the match has begun - there's plenty to look out for in play which should definitively decide this match either way. |

By:
I didn't watch that match except for snippets.
Note the past tense though; I had never seen anything like it (from Fed) |
By:
yes I probably worded that wrong dstytle...either way berdy took advantage of an off day but they are becoming more regular.
By:
wasn't a dig smb - more a comment about how off fed was the other night, and that it backed up my point about it becoming more common.
say what you like about the bum picker, but if an organiser throws a bucketload of money his way to appear in their tinpot, he's prepared to break himself. i maintain that it wasn't until his sf match against troicki in tokyo that i really understood what was so special about him. |

I just drove up the M5 at 110 to see Djokovic win - but I'm now a bit twitchy about Federer! Time for a cup of tea before I make any decisions I think

I guess I'm just lucky! Last time I was let off with a slap on the wrist. It was worth it to see great tennis :)

1.47 looks massive
By:
that's exactly why I'm getting twitchy

I think Federer wins today anyway. Berdych will need to be at his best to beat him, and I don't think he's there this week. He has looked tired this week and I mean this is his 8th match in either 9 or 10 days on 2 different continents.
