Because Ferrer has such a favorable H2H against Djokovic and was expected to cause him trouble? Or maybe you think Ferrer and Murray are comparable opponents? Using your logic if some scabby no mark had fluked his way to the semis and got thumped exactly in line with expectation this too would somehow speak favorably of Djokovic's chances against Murray?
By all means back Djokovic if you feel there is value there, but don't attempt to ameliorate your cognitive dissonance by posting weak as piss analysis here. |

wowListen, ferrer and murray are not comparable agreed, but you missed my point, the way he played against ferrer - would have beaten absolutely anyone including murray, the best I think I've ever seen from him, and to flesh it out a bit more - Novak already has supreme recovery abilities - and given him an extra 24 hours prep and rest over murray is a undoubtedly a key advantage is it not esp given he had a 5 setter. |
|
By:
don't think Murray's 5 setter was all that taxing, and given he hadn't dropped a set until then he will be fine. Adrenalin alone will get him through, and the fact he is a world class athlete, fatigue won't be an issue unless it goes very deep perhaps.

rock solid ferrer? LOL. Did you watch ferrer against almugro at all?! He went 2 sets and a break down to a player he had a 12-0 record against previously. Almugro served for the match at 5-4 in both the 3rd and 4th sets and only his mental weakness saved ferrer. Ferrer played 3 matches +1 exhibition match against djoko in 2012 and only took 1 set. And he was fatigued from the 5 setter with Almugro.
Djoko looked very impressive against Ferrer, yes, but he usually does, so I wouldn't read too much into it. If both players are on top form then Djoko wins but after his last 2 grand slam finals, I'm not so sure djokobot will turn up today. |
|
By:
what can we read into murrays run to the final? not a lot, he had a pretty weak field to get thorugh until simon - but that was a complete non event, Federer is 32 this year, and again you can't read too much into that victory. I haven't seen him play special tennis.

yes, people were saying that Murray was going to destroy fed and they are still going on as if he did. He dominated the match but still couldn't get it done in less than 5 sets. I don't think djoko will let him away with that. I've been more impressed with djoko's tennis so far overall

Murray has won the first set in their last 4 meetings, 2.4 here. 1.58 for Djoko.. I would rather back 4-5 sets which is around the 1.52 mark and is much more likely.

is this official AO final thread?

should imagine so,jin.

I don't care what anyone says the extra days rest will be a factor. I think Murray is heading for no1 some time but backing Novak today. In the us open final did Novak not run out of steam in the 5th set. That won't be case today
|

After a lot of thoughtful consideration I went for Li Na yesterday
After similar consideration I was going for Novak today so instead I'll go for Murray not going big anyway so if I get screwed it will top off a very poor betting tourney for me, If I win then...![]() |

Honestly thought the market would be 1.67/2.5 and even then I think Murray would be massive. This is a coin toss for me.

Andy has been starting well lately. With Novak's odds I am going for initial lay of him to trade green asap. Hoping this will be another 4-5 set match with several breaks and try to increase profits through the various swings. Can't wait to watch this one, good luck all!
