Same question as usual with Ferrer: stuck as a pretender or serious contender?
Will Ferrer ever take the next step and be able to beat one of the big top 3 (top 4 with nadal playing) in a grand slam or when they are not playing with a serious injury? Such a poor past record against them....
I admire his fight, persistence and hardwork but the talent just does not seem to be there
Ferrer does not seem to have the offensive weapons to beat Djok and just rely om him making too many mistakes or the game goes 7 or 8 hours to bore him to victory?
also think mentally Ferrer goes into those games expecting not to win now
Djok in 3/4 sets for me

I still feel the same about the match
Night games at AO this week have seen the ball be reported as being heavy and giving advantage to players that hit big ground strokes bcos there is more margin for error than normal or day matches (not my opinion but tv commentators)
Ferrer does not have those heavy ground strokes
Djok would have to play really bad and his first serve to be well well down on normal to lose this

I want Ferrer to win, but I wouldnt mind if Djokovic wins and it reduces Murray's chances 
somehow Murray/Federer vs Ferrer final does not have same appeal
I think it would because everyone would be wanting Ferrer to win.
whereas not many people like Djokovic or Murray.

i like all players who win when i have my money on them - esp djok and fed who have not let me down much over the years :)
Ferrer win not out of the question, Djoko great against big hitters, but more mobile players like Stan have a chance.
Ferrer will do well to push Novak in 3 sets, or even pinch 1 set tonight

talent, persona, attitude and sportsmanship would love to see ferrer kick djok and fed and specially the murray's brat arses
what ferrer lack's is a genetic shortcomming for this game: height.
other wise he made the absolute outmost of his body and tennis game.
no no. love federer's game, actually i love good tennis, regardless who plays it. but i think ferrer deserved a shining start slam prize to his career
and ferrer will at very least complicate djoker's life for the final
such an easy rhythm for djokovic, and ferrer flirting with errors if he wants to punch through.

What a shame for him then that Nadal is returning to tennis next week.
Djok extremely focused but it's a horrible matchup for Ferrer
so much intensity in ferrer's game and yet 2 breaks down...

This court is dross, even rebound ace was exciting compared to this

He is just not good against Djokovic, because they can both defend for ages, but Djokovic has winning shots that Ferrer doesnt.

Pointless and useless Bradnan saying what Ferrer is doing wrong, I dun't remember him winning the Australian Open or any Open, I don't, even, remember him playing in any. Willander spewing out b/s, hoping that's what the tv audience want to hear.....it isn't! What they want to hear is that those two plebs won't be pestering them, in future, add in the sycophant Andrew Castle, for removal, and we start to make progress. There's got to be better, much better, out there.

Just because Ferrer can't beat Djokovic doesn't mean he isn't top class, the way he's being described, right now, one could think he was a Challenger player, there aren't many, if any, can match Djokovic, at the moment.

Wawa's performance would have likely beaten him on faster court but it's so tricky to hit though on this surface. Ferrer never stood a chance, great performance but an ideal matchup for Djok
