I understand the istanbul tourney with the best female players playing against each other.....but how is this group of players champions?

the only thing to note about the points is that Wozi can finish the year in the top 10. She is 55 points behind bartoli. That should mean a lot more money from endorsements than the prizes on offer

it should have been the best ranked players winning a tournament of the 'international' level on WTA tour not competing in Istanbul, but obviously Kanepi (probably injured) and Venus have turned down to play there, Pironkova chosen WC for obvious reason to have a home player
