Isner for me...

Its a common error to think that big serves are actually good at tie breaks... I believe its quite the opposite, since they rely on their serve it works in the long run but in small runs like ties all it takes its one or two serves to fail and they lose

Smashed in tie break..big john nowhere near as good as he was last season

What a mug Isner is ...

Loses 4 serving points in the whole 1st set ... then off to tie break ... and loses 50% of his serving points there!

Probably underestimating

Isner to wake up in the 2nd set I think.

That is very much true for Karlovic, his tie break record is pathetic.

Isner however is the 3rd best (active) player in tiebreaks. Both counting this year and career-wise.

regarding the percentage of total tiebreaks played won

goffin is an hard nut to crack, not sure bigjohn can rally here

Isner just happened to lose this one. Shit happens. He's still awesome in tiebreaks generally

Tiebreak records mean ****, it does not takes into account who they're played against. My TB record can be 0-10 yet all my tiebreaks are against federer and the likes, and yours can be 10-0 but you played mugs. Hence TB records have 0 credibility

Isner is playing good competition all the time.

It's not like he compiled that tiebreak record on the challenger circuit. And roughly 250 career tiebreaks against ATP competition does tell you whether someone is good in tiebreaks or not.

Isner at 1.41 is looking value. This guy Goffin hasn't beaten anyone notable recently. Pablo Andujar is his only victory over a top 50 player in his last 10 matches. All the rest have been challenger opponents rated in the 100s...

Yeah... obviously he would end up collapsing in the third set. Always the same with these challenger-type players who've had a good run. They put up a good show for a set and a half and then fold...
