Its a common error to think that big serves are actually good at tie breaks... I believe its quite the opposite, since they rely on their serve it works in the long run but in small runs like ties all it takes its one or two serves to fail and they lose

What a mug Isner is ...

Loses 4 serving points in the whole 1st set ... then off to tie break ... and loses 50% of his serving points there!

That is very much true for Karlovic, his tie break record is pathetic.

Isner however is the 3rd best (active) player in tiebreaks. Both counting this year and career-wise.

Tiebreak records mean ****, it does not takes into account who they're played against. My TB record can be 0-10 yet all my tiebreaks are against federer and the likes, and yours can be 10-0 but you played mugs. Hence TB records have 0 credibility

Isner is playing good competition all the time.

It's not like he compiled that tiebreak record on the challenger circuit. And roughly 250 career tiebreaks against ATP competition does tell you whether someone is good in tiebreaks or not.
