it's not profitable, these sh1tty tournaments are ego tournaments... some local rich guy with the right connections buys the rights and then the WTA doesn't care as long as the calendar is full... am not surprised by the lack of spectators, women's tournaments, even bigger ones, are rarely attended... the WTA leadership is doing a complete crap job to promote the sport

actually, I realised it's not the WTA trying to pull the plug on the feed, they just have a 3-year old in the studio of the transmission playing with the buttons to add some sort of "special effects" to this nightmare of a match
