What I never get in WTA, is that the market thinks the winner of the second set is more likely to win the match than they were at the start.
By:
Statistics show otherwise. Although maybe not where U Rad is concerned.

from 3-1 to 3-6..impressive

i would love to see a stat how many wta matches were lost after leading set and break

People think that it is because a player is getting into the match, or has got their game going etc. They ignore the fact that the other player may have relaxed during the second set.

Srichaphan or Ancic? 12 Jul 12 23:29
What I never get in WTA, is that the market thinks the winner of the second set is more likely to win the match than they were at the start. It's simple math really, not magic ![]() |

Pile into Radwanska now, just a blip an is the better player
By:
pile into anyone at your own peril..

By:
pretty big blip losing 5 games in a row
By:
erakovic played well from 1-3 if she keeps the level no chance for urad
By:
Yes, in ATP too, but I think the stats for WTA have a larger favouritism for the first set winner.
By:
50/50 game
By:
Had Erakovic won the first set and then U Rad the second, she would have been 1.5s/1.6s.
By:
I hate these markets when people are falling over themselves to back the player who won the last point. Puts the odds way out.
By:
What I meant is, obviously URad should still be favorite just slightly above SP, not Erakovic, but yeah markets often like to go with the player who is currently winning games.
By:
it is because they try to get the prices, but they disappear, so they lower their odds, etc. and it pushes the market too far.
By:
4 great serves
By:
6 straight games
By:
please, remind me, when was the last time URad won a game?
By:
Indeed SoA but after numerous points of this the market can be way out and it can sting you. Doesn't suit my strategy.
By:
I know, thats why I hate trading.
By:
you can get left in a position in which you have to hope the odds reverse.
By:
As if this is over after a couple games, mit go like 3-0 3-5 7-5 would not be surprising
By:
u-rad must be injured
By:
bagel incoming
By:
please just win a freaking game so i can cash out :)
By:
Markets work in two ways I've found - momentum or correcting over-reactions. This market has both.
By:
i always like to be on the one who serves first in the final set, as you feel even if they get broken they are still in it
By:
I thought she would break there.
By:
in ATP sure David Hasselhoff. Not so sure in WTA.
