Looking at relative form it seems that Murray will have to play one of the best matches of his career, and hope that Ferrer has a serious off day, otherwise I can't see Murray getting more than a couple of games a set.

Murray will win in straight sets, probably take about oh an hour and a half.

Barry you are a bit too optimistic about Ferrer here imo... but this question an year ago would probably have been: can Ferrer beat Murray?

LOL I think I'm going to watch this without even logging into BF... Laugh

I don't think there's much between the 2 on clay now. Murray was the better player at the FO but killed himself with 50 unforced errors. On grass Murray will win comfortably. Murray is probably playing the best of everyone this tournament, except maybe Djokovic

It's not going to be a slaughter.. For either player..

I don't think he is Bhoys. Seems a lot on here believe Ferrer's a non-event on grass and will get steamrollered. I'm guessing they haven't seen how much Ferrer's improved over the last few months. He's playing some great stuff currently.

i think ferrer will win but muzza only getting a cuple of games a set is laughable

Think it could go either way myself. But I think Murray fans will be surprised to find Ferrer isn't the walkover of old.

murray does everything better than ferrer on grass

There,s great value to be had here as no way should ferrer 3.00. playing del potro was a much tougher test then a tired cilic and having never played each other on grass b4 and the head to head standing at 5 a piece i really don,t see too much between the pair.

no he doesnt mate, If you seen Murray against Baggy and cilic and Ferrer against Roddick and Delpo today Ferrer every bit as well as Murray...plus the courts are that bit slower which also suits Ferrer IMO.

none of ferrer's wins have come in knockout matches off clay

There is NO WAY that Murray can beat Ferrer, unless Ferrer has a serious off day!
BETTING ON FERRER IS BUYING MONEY...AS EASY AS TAKING CANDY FROM A BABY!!
Set wise: Back Ferrer 3-1 and 3-2.

some people on here appear to think a claycourter can't produce any sort of display on grass - even if said claycourter has already been producing some superb tennis on a grass court that day.

Murray gets too many free points with serve on grass for Ferrer to beat him, Murray has the advantage on every surface bar clay.

He wont be getting too many free points off Ferrer thats a fact

Murray's serve ain't exactly the most reliable.  It's pretty good when he gets those first serves in. But his second serve in big matches... Crazy

It went off against Roddick as well in 2009. Murray will know this is a big match for him - if he gets past Ferrer, he'll rather fancy himself against either Tsonga (who he always beats on grass) or Kohly (Laugh), and will know he's got a fantastic chance of making the final.   So, yeah, this'll be a big game for him. And his first serve may well start misfiring.

I'm not saying he won't win. Just that it's not going to be a pushover for him, and Ferrer is quite capable of defeating him, even on this surface.
