the simple truth is that schiavone's game requires and has always required a phenomenal amount of effort.
it's not timing, it's sinew and graft and perspiration. which means it's great that she won a major, particularly after her missing out on so many finals, breaking her duck only a few years before the french, but, the problem is that when she's can't put in all the effort required, it's an ordinary game. i hope she bows out this year, because if she keeps going it's going to get really ugly. |

i think more of this mathc is that makarova played very well not making errors and landing all the shots on the baseline
