An unexpected finals clash, but one that the organisers won't be too unhappy about.
Isner played the match of his life to win the semi, no doubt he will deserve the title if he can beat two of the big four in consecutive matches.
Could that be a bridge too far for big John? We shall see.

got to ask what he did that beat nojoke, this seemed to be creating good opps and coming in to use his good volleys. Will this work on fedex ?
my feeling is that the fedex bletchley park computer will have absorbed the tapes and come up with the answer. in the meantime will john boy shorten ?? |

Sooo, Federer's almost certainly going to win. Is he going to beat Isner 2-0 though? I am not so sure. I think a lay of 2 sets in the match at 1.44 sounds pretty decent to me.

only 16 degrees and wind around 35kph, that'll make it very hard for Isner, but i remember Fed wasn't always so good playing in the wind.

I was very surprised when Isner beat Federer in the Davis Cup - didn't see the match so I don't know what was the key to Isner's success or whether he can do it again.

DC was played on clay, surface was caused many bad bounces and Isner's serve bounced very high

The same can happen here. Isner served coupe of high-bouncing serves against Joker that worked so he will try to repeat it against Federer as well. If his forehand works we can expect at least one tie-break here so 1.27 is a lay

isner has demonstrated he can beat federer....he is not the favourite so he has no pressure and federer knows that isner can bwat him...plus the psicological advantage for isner we do have at least a 3 set match if not a win for isner

really wind picking up i reckon that will favour fed massively - isner will be nervous just like yesterday and played 3 hours yesterday - hes never proved he can last a few matches in a few days half way through slam he looks fooked

also djoker played dead defensive yesterday and never went really hard into isner backhand consistently fed will pound his backhand or go super fast into his forehand and hold serve with total ease as djoker served rubbish yesterday too fed will hold to 15 with the odd 30 game - fed serves great in the wind as proved many times before - a nervous isner wont in first set at least - first masters final and he'll be jaded i promise

has anyone ever seen fed play a worst final than a semi?
he ups it and really plays his best in every final i have seen him play - apart from Arod london grass and he had the t shirt printed before he started that one which wasnt good mental prep |

fed will mix it up with loads or short slices just like when he used to take soderling to pieces when he was at his peak djoker only got him moving from side to side not so much up and down with awkward balls

You ask a bridge too far I think it could be the oppersite 'bridging the gap' between Isner and higher ranking players. If he's serving 144mph outwide like yesterday I think we got a good trading game to enjoy. Let's be honest he'll be pumped up for it.
