Is there any hope for Istomin here? How well is he playing?
I haven't seen either of them play this week but my feeling is that Delboy is a safe bet.

His confidence, the way he has been playing, slow courts.
He will beat Del Potro, and then he will beat Federer. And then Nadal will beat him.
And then Nadal will lose to Djokovic, again.
S or A knows nothing about tennis, he just thinks he does
DelPo is going to crush Istomin easily. Then he will batter Federer at which point I will trade him out. Also backed Djoko at 2.94 all the way into 2.68...

I think its only after Kerber/Li game... at least it was scheduled for the same stadium
Not sure this will be as one sided as some people think but I do agree that Delpo will win this and probably in 2
"often when you see a player running around his back hand it means he's not that confident on that side"
No REALLY? ha ha
No REALLY? ha ha
Del Potro should be losing this, but he's sneaking it on a tiebreak again.
Obvious fishing, anyway, was a freak break back.
Delpo had 14 points more in 1st set, and still hardly managed
the set in his favour... unbelieveable...

I don't think Del Potro should be losing necessarily, just that his price should not have been that short going into the TB based on SP.
So far it has all been on Del Potro's racquet, Istomin just staying in the rallies for the most part and the break back was just lack of concentration.

Stats show Del Po has the upper hand in a major way, on both first and second serve % won. But the second half of this match has seen Istomin being the one with the slight upper hand.
I said it before, Istomin loves slow courts. He is a terrible mover, and Roddick exposed him last time they played, but on slow courts when he has more time to move and set up his shots, thats where he is far more dangerous.
I mean Del Po isn't a particularly good server for being 6'6, his serve is always susceptible to going off the boil. And he is also not dominating from the back court against Istomin. I still think he'll take it in straights, but Istomin could take this to a third. Hell, he could win it, if Del Po's serving remains this erratic. I mean 6'6, come on man, you should have a better serve.
Still too early to say that this is how the 2nd will play out, but 2nd set stats are starting to favor Istomin, while Del Pos stats seem to be faltering. Still, it is early in the 2nd so those numbers will be skewed. Del Po still got better stats for the whole match, but there is no doubt Istomin is faring better in the 2nd, so far.
Need the stats to know at least how we poll the player is faring on 2nd serve points won, and its not good for Istomin. But, I think Istomin's style of hitting it flat and low over the net bothers Del Po, so he better finish him off when he gets the chance. I think Istomin is doing really well so far. Definitely troubling Del Po more than one would exepct.
I'm wondering if there has ever been a 6'6 top ten player that has ever been as poor a server as Del Po.
I'm always a bit surprised when Del Po makes a serve down the line. His service action isn't orthodox at all when he goes down the line. Its actually not a great action at all, but he is 6'6.
Mmmmmmn wondering whether to get involved on Delpo now or wait in hop he loses this 2nd set?
I bet All you people who backed Delpo at 1.15 at the start are having fits!! lol
No, we got out when he was lower (can;t remember the exact point now, it's late...) and got in again at 1.3
Was having Fits! Traded out when I saw dEL Pos serve stats plummet. Guranteed to make 2 whole pounds!
Nice one both of you, Ive held off and am not getting involved unless Istomug takes the 2nd set.....then I will be on Delpo :)
Was being sarcastic obviously about the two pounds, which is I am actually guranteed to make. But I'm always willing to take a smallish hit to trade out when the matchup proves problematic.
Istomins not a good matchup for Del Po on this court. Plus you never know about Del Pos serve. Might miss every single first serve in a game, or hit three aces.

Istomug is a bit of a weirdo in real life, he won a match a couple of tournaments ago against Roddick at the SAP Open and he totally cracked up in the post match on court interview....very cringeworthy to watch and gave a big insight into his mental state lol

Really? He was just laughing his ass off?
No I mean cracked up as in he didnt know what to say and his words just wouldnt come out, very awkward moments indeed
he really is. Juan slipped a bit there, what he does with it? nothing
Istomin is like a fish swimming in a bowl.....round and round he goes and can never find a way out lmao
Different match ups. Istomin makes Del Po uncomfrotable, because he hits it just like him flat and low over the net. They both like bounce to hit down into.
Freak me out, here we go.....serious money to be made here I hope :)
this turned into Mugfest!??
A WTA math? Boy...DP is far from any serious player.

Surely Delpo will raise his game now and take this 3rd comfortably
A glazed, ring-shaped roll with a tough, chewy texture, made from plain yeast dough that is dropped briefly into nearly boiling water and then baked........lmao
Thank you, ctrl-z. Yes, ideally - although I'm out again. My poor heart can't take more of this.
My whole body cant take anymore, especially my eyes......Hurry Delpo I need some sleep
i'm still waiting so ideally Istomin doesn't get a point from here.
it's been well enough now
it's been well enough now
Delpo is walking around between points as in a daze - but he still manages to win games... But I suspect he's very near to exhaustion.
