Del Potro's two loses came on slow courts, with low bounces. Low bouncing courts is what Fed thrives on. Remember his trouncing of Nadal in Shanghai? These conditions allow his backhand to work well, but I will be looking for Del Potro to win today. Obviously only inplay, after assessment.

i backed del potty few weeks ago v fed but he was severly destroyed but am in aain think he was 2.3 that day 3.8 today good grief

Fed did destroy Del a few weeks ago. But it was on an indoor low bouncing slow court. Fed is master of exploiting those conditions. Gets his best results on such.
Today gives us very different conditions. Just watch a bit, and if you like watch you see, think about Del Potro. Thats what I'm planning. |

The most aces market, which has appeared from nowhere on some matches again, should be interesting, because even when he has been beaten, Del Potro has often fired more aces past Federer.
By:
question is to lay Fed or back Potty at them odds
By:
but fed loves low bouncing quick courts, this is exactly what this is
it isnt high bouncing here , im not sure if you think it is del potro doesnt like courts this quick imo, montreal/toronto tournament is his best surface |
By:
jsimpson is right, Federer does not like high bouncing courts and this isnt one of those.
By:
If Fed has been given the same eye drops as Djoko then it's got to be Del boy.
By:
potty should put up a fight this time around if he's serious about making it to top 5 again
By:
potro has no chance
By:
Easy for Fed. Too smart for DelPo.
By:
frozendog: Dubai has been a quick low bouncing court, Federer will relish these conditions, certainly more so than Del Potro. Also, this is Del Potro's third tournament in 3 weeks, I think he will be that bit more tired than a Federer who looked rejuvenated in Rotterdam.

By:
A lot of money wanting Del Potro 2-0. Not sure why.
By:
Fed 2-0
By:
S o A , to recover a bit of they nole lose?

Just like the murray V djoker game, from a betting point of view it pays to sit some out if unsure. I really like del potro and his form, but with these stats it would be stupid to part with ur money on an outsider. There's always so many tennis games to choose from you don't need to be on every one.
By:
potro will win the 1st set. FACT.
potro is form. federer is not the same fed. revenge on cards. |
By:
maybe, but he has never beaten Federer 2-0. And Federer rarely loses 2-0.
By:
nah not FACT, Fed 7-6 6-4, HUNCH
By:
fed struggled in parts against llodra and lopez. and if either had been better would have nicked a set.
By:
I'm with Lochinvar here but not for "del boy wins first set, FACT" noone should speak like that imo cause nobody predicts the future... I just think Del Potro can give way more trouble than Feli, Llodra, Mika and Del Potro himself ( Rotterdam - INDOOR ) did...
By:
but Del Potro is better indoors than out.
By:
bollox
fed did what he has done hundreds of times... nicked an evenly balanced set with a late break for 6-4 or 7-5 and then won tie breaks |
By:
DPotty most aces at evens sounds a shout
By:
I'm all in on delpotro
By:
well, half bank
By:
thats not all in then :p
By:
del potro is not a better indoor player than outdoor player
i dont care what the stats to this point in time say |
By:
http://www.matchstat.com/Player/Juan%20Martin%20Del%20Potro
jsimpson even stats don't say that... I don't know from where did SoA took that statement out.... |
By:
if delpotro get into tie break in first set, then green out
By:
and I don't believe that too... stats hang opponents.... Del Potro Forehand and Backhand hang on surface....
By:
didnt think they would
just assumed he some obscure stats backing up that ridiculous statement |
By:
had*
By:
go check his indoor aces
By:
whos not going to hit more aces indoors?
is that how you quantify whether they are better indoors or out? ![]() |
By:
compare it to Federer
By:
oh christ
By:
Jsimpson!!!! Easter is so close!
By:
