you have to remember what a choke is and Murray has never been a choker. His problem has always been his inconsistency, his level goes up and down from day to day but he rarely (if ever) has chucked matches away from imminent victory..., and that is what a choke is (Jana Novotna style)

that's just semantics. and not what I meant. Andy on many occasions has been good in throwing away his chances. fact is he mocked up serving for the match. then Djokovic wasn't quite the opponent he usually is and sortof handed him the match on his own service. not saying Andy wouldn't have won the TB, today he was more likely to even.

so "a choke" is only determined by the end result, only in hindsight we may use this word? just to get my facts straight here

well yes solid arguments there thrown back and forward there, interesting reflection on the match, lively debate about what's what. always nice to have these chats about the match when it's done.

Choke is used here if you bet on them when they are short odds looking to win and then the odds start going against you.  Same as shouting fix and mug etc...some pointless word the forum could do without.
The prices on Murray were a gift today.  Funny how the market forgets who won the first set etc...how Djoker suddenly became about evens to win when a set down and a tiebreak looked likely is beyond me.
