Lowers risk. Otherwise you tend to put the big money on short odds which inevitably leads you to the poor house.

Very nice work. Shocked at Peer, I always thought she was pretty reliable but it reconfirms what we all know about WTA - its never over until the matched is finished. the amount of times i've seen serve lost when having to serve for the match.... should be a millionaire by now..... [smiley:crazy]

Sifon, Do you trade in running or let your bets ride till the end ?
|
|
By:
no trading unless stated.
although trading might be a good idea with some of these bets |
|
By:
Actually, You had gone for lots of odds against shots today so was wondering if you trade out, GL
|
|
By:
Could be an ugly day for you.
Maybe tilt? Backing against favorites is tough, you really have to know what you are doing if you don't trade. |
|
By:
Novae r u nuts.
Wat ur trying to say is if u back favs u dnt need to know wat ur doing. Bless u |
|
By:
Crap how did I forget the kirilenko game.
would have gone against that blonde bint too |
|
By:
Yes, Aman the bint put me on tilt
I have to ride it out now |
|
By:
No look at what he is doing there.
He backs 4.0+ shots with the same stake he backs 1.3 or lower. Thats a recepy for desaster, huge swings guaranteed and you have to be damn sure you back value there or it's a fast way to getting frustrated and make bad selections and chasing losses. That's exactly how this looks like, two bad days and he backs a lot of longshots. I mean if I look at his bets it just looks speculative at best. Personally I find it very relaxing to simply back odds around 1.2-2.5 and not trade here anything. You lose less often, yes it makes a difference for me, I prefer low variance and steady profit. If I lay odds around the range of 3+ I usually look to trade out. But ok I may be wrong... |
|
By:
I think the thing is, if you are going to follow sifon, that you put a bit of your own thought into it.
Going large on picks you like and just having a dip on roughies makes alot more sense than same stake all round. Just IMO. |
|
By:
Congrats, looks like you had a good day.
Still I wouldn't have touched half of those bets, way to risky for my taste :) |

Very good comeback Sifon. Well done today.
Noovae are you in Australia. Just wondering as you were talking about laying and then trading in play. Wondered if you were ringing up and placing bets or placing lay bets and keeping them in play.I am fairly new to betfair but am trying to learn. I find it frustrating reading about all the in play trades all the forumites in England are doing which we can't do here. Thanks anyway for any info. Also to you Sifon if you have any thoughts about strategy in Aus. Cheers |
|
By:
coboz, i'm in Australia so i understand your frustration. :)
Your question is probably best asked in the Australian forum |

Thanks Sifon. Hope at some stage the rules get changed.
