totally agree with canaryboy. Fed supporters got lucky. He was SO beatable today I reckon Murray could have beaten him. His invincible tag has disintegrated. This is another massive boost to all his rivals and shows how vulnerable he now is. You can add A-Rod to the names of Nadal, Murray and Djokovic as all being capable of beating him in Slams. I'd be surprised if he wins Wimbledon again. He couldn't break Nadal's serve last year and he only broke A-Rod this year cos A-Rod was out on his legs at the end. His groundshots look ordinary. He makes many unforced errors. It is only his belief in his own absolute greatness that carries him through but that will not be enough in coming slams.

I think this thread title is absolutely 100 per cent correct, as of now. I don't think Fed will win another Slam assuming Nadal gets back to full fitness.
I see Nadal, Murray, Djokovic, Del Porto and Roddick getting in his way at all future slams. Federer's game is clearly deteriorating. Given his partner is about to drop a sprog, and given fatherhood has a history of causing sportsmen to lose their competitive edge, I see things only getting harder for Fed. And the thing is, his pride won't be able to cope with a number of slam defeats so I expect the end to come very fast and him to pack up within the next 2 to 3 years. |

fed holds 3 of the 4 slams and lost in the other final and he got lucky in them all
thats some ridiculous luck should take up poker and go all in on every 7-2 he gets |

rofl: He was SO beatable today I reckon Murray could have beaten him.
In what parallel universe do you live? Any Fed fan will freely admit that the final wasn't his best tennis and he struggled with A.Rod 2.0...but don't forget the way he carved his way through by far the hardest quarter of the draw. Sometimes being the greatest player of all time is about more that beautiful tennis. Yesterday it was about hanging tough and finding a way. Lucky? Don't make me laugh. As A.Rod said "Roger deserves everything he gets". Now everyone is writing him out of USO because he struggled in the final against Roddick...forgetting of course the rest of the tennis he played at Wimbledon, and of course the fact that last year he came to USO a broken man...and played some of the greatest hard court tennis ever in the final. I just fail to see how true tennis fans cannot tip their hat to the great man, who has achieved the loftiest heights in the game and given us the most beautiful tennis ever seen. All the greats hail him. Only the bitter fanboys left to denegrate. Sounds a bit like "BooHoo". |
