Fabulous Time showed decent early boot when failing to qualify in her Oaks heat. She folded rather tamely on the run in. This was a bit mystifying, as she lost bundles of time from her sparkling 28.60 trial previously. She didn’t show too well on her previous visit here, so she is best swerved here. Bandicoot Frisky looked suited to a galloping track when winning a heat of the Nottingham Oaks and she looks a penalty kick to my eyes.

If Irish Derby Finalist Faypoint Man returns anywhere near his best following a lengthy layoff, he would take a deal of beating here, on a galloping track that should suit. (If my Auntie has gonads, she'd be my uncle Grin) His recent sprint trial at Sheffield was pretty decent. Mill Jaguar has won 11 opens without putting in a good figure yet, but looks the most likely winner. Pboro Cesarewitch winner Jackdaw Summer has a little to find with Mill Jaguar on an earlier form line, but stayed on well that day and could capitalise if they bunched up. Mill Jaguar does not appeal to me at the odds.

    6        Kaukola Ridge        0        11        2.6        B        P H Harnden        0

Six bitches line up for a marathon, where recent Romford 2nd Ayamzagirl sets a decent standard on a track that should suit her much better. Slick Sapphire shaped like this sort of trip would suit on her previous run over 680m. Kaukola Ridge is 0 and 11 in the UK, but has run over this sort of trip in Ireland, so should stay the trip ok. Ballysimon Madam finished a remote 4th over C & D in October.

    6        Risky Wand        11        30        4.1        D        M A Wallis        108

A fabulous field assembles for the sprint. Jimmy Lollie (7/12 over C & D) is a worthy favourite. Rotar Wing (18/25 over C & D) has a great record here and should make Jimmy pull out all the stops in what should prove to be a thriller. Brooklyn Bandit (2/2 over C & D) is a most promising sprinter, but he might lack the experience to get the better of these. Veteran Boherduff Monti (5/11 over C & D) is in top form and can’t be ruled out. Farloe Padre (0/4 over C & D) and Risky Wand (1/2 over C & D) look to have a fair bit to find.

    6        Driving Up Ben        8        50        3.6        D        P A Sallis        81

Mottos Banker tied up at Doncaster when sent there without a trial, having wobbled round the first two bends. He’s had three recent sprint trials around here and looks likely to set a fierce pace up front. I think he is well worth a punt. Final Rapid won well here last time. However, though he has fine early pace, he is not a trapper, so he may find Mottos Banker has slipped clear before he gets up to full pace.Taylors Cruise has not got the early of the selection, so may need trouble to get involved.

    6        Carbarns Tom        30        87        4.5        D        C R Lister        89

This would appear to rest between 2009 St Leger winner Kinda Easy and Bower Hawk. Bower Hawk has lacked a bit of track craft on a few recent runs, but the pace is there for all to see. He looks the most likely winner on a galloping track that should suit. He’s 3/5 around here. Kinda Easy should set a decent pace up front and will be hoping Bower Hawk does not find a clear passage. Odell Faith has hit a rich vein of form over C & D, but might find these two rivals a bit too classy.

    6        Droopys Master        7        24        2.1        D        S A Cahill        0

Steel City cup & All England cup winner Mill Pinpoint (trained by the lovely Kelly MacariLove) would normally take all the beating here. However, a litte caution is advised, as he did not take the 3rd bend too fluently last time. Reluctant is a bit hit and miss, but is the most likely to take advantage, should  Mill Pinpoint run below his best. I doubt Droopys Master will have the early pace back at this trip to land a blow. I’m still expecting Mill Pinpoint to make all. Even when they are not right, they often run the bends cleanly when in front.

An excellent, open looking Eclipse final, features 2010 Derby winner Bandicoot Tipoki, 2009 Derby Kinda Ready, Scottish Derby winner Nambisco, Olympic winner and Sussex cup finalist Ballymac William, Produce finalist Mcgahon Toots and Tudor Prince, the winner of seven opens in his career to date.
Although likely to be outpaced early, Mcgahon Toots, will be finishing best of all. He has a heat verdict over Nambisco and is the tentative selection in a competitive race.
Nambisco seems to have the best of the draw and should contend the lead, but has looked a bit weak at the end of his 2 heat runs. He might find the required improvement.
Bandicoot Tipoki can do it from the front, or slightly off the pace. Came home well in the heats.
May need a bit of luck in running from this draw.
Kinda Ready is a bit hit and miss at the traps and will need to step lively from this draw. Has been finishing strongly in the heats.
Ballymac William faces an uphill task from this draw and has a bit to find on the heat form.
Tudor Prince has done really well to make the final, but steps up in class and has a lot to find to get involved here.
