Yes, Ukraine or Israel price would come right in if there was a tragedy. Juries can be secretly told to give no marks, but that's not a certainty, and it's never a certainty they'd they'd obey.

By:
Fair enough, Henry. I do rate Finland's originality, and loved Cha Cha Cha, so I wouldn't be against it.

Juries are more of an unknown. There should be enough for them though because Erika's a great vocalist and great stage-work, simple but it works.
And it's up against this rubbish - Sweden rehearsal video and audio feed in 2 parts aka Mans shouting annoyingly: x.com/klaraforesc/status/1892644158961000513 |

Escapee well done on UKR. The unexpected can change sentiment in such countries. The same was possible on Israel last year which went into the 100s and then back down to 20s.
However that was actually a great song and came second in public vote with 323 (overall winner Switz only 226 public votes). But juries were told not to vote for it. |

By:
Oh, I see I answered that already.
By:
but not well enough

Tommy Cash featured on Joosts song with "f*** the ebu" lyrics. Yeah, good luck with those jury points. Should be 100/1

Here Joost's song : www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_vWane7_tw

Estonia seeing some laying.
By:
Estonia's price may not drift that much. Their team is probs backing them to increase relevance in this illiquid market
By:
His song was removed from ESC website a while ago. I don't know why. Possibly due to uncertainty about Joost's song incoming.
By:
ESC YouTube I should say, I haven't been following the actual ESC website.

There are rumors that he flagged for copyright as he has done that to all reaction Youtubers
By:
Just loves drama
By:
You know I meant "Tommy's song" was removed? I wasn't clear.
By:
Yeah. Heard some say he requested it to be removed, for drama or otherwise. But yeah, wouldn't surprise me
By:
Possibly for drama. Although I'm not sure it's a good idea. He can't claim copyright against EBU and reactors are allowed to use snippets.
By:
But I don't think they'd remove it for his request. More likely they have a reason.
He's playing a dangerous game anyway. "Joost Klein, Tommy - the unity" from "United by Music" |
By:
United By Music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_vWane7_tw
has 1.1K likes and 734 dislikes. Would 734 people really be offended by it? That surprises me. |
By:
From what I've seen, people are tired of the drama and see it as attention-seeking. Tommy Cash already built up a lot of haters, too

Was hoping to back Portugal a bit more before the show tomorrow but someone else is keen, damn.
By:
That's the problem with the liquidity and not being able to get on at bookies. Really hard to get a large stake on. Finland and Portugal are my two favourites to win (assuming Josh gets through which I think he will, though Henka can offer stern competition).
By:
For sure. I tried on Poly for a while but could only get a small amount matched. Still, my book is looking like roughly £10k France win, £20k Portugal win, £2.5k red the others (other than few small greens here and there at bigger prices). Josh really needs to win... or I'mm up Schitt's creek
By:
Similarish book. Finland and Portugal my greens with Belgium Estonia Israel and Sweden red. Let the games begin ! I'd be very surprised if Josh doesn't get through. Hopefully for us it's jury bait in the main show too !
By:
Well I'm sure we all experience temporary periods of madness sometimes in our lives. I find Tristeza beautiful, but according to polls, views, it faces very strong competition. Its 3 biggest threats are all in SF2, Tristeza in SF1 which it'll probably top, so we can't see directly how it does against them. They'll all get through as 6/10 get through the SF's. So you'll have to wait until the final on 8 March.

Sweden into 4s was not what I was expecting
By:
Getting too skinny now, but yeah, I think because the market is just so desperate/there is nothing in the field. At least with Sweden, you know you have a likely 400+ horse on the track. The others (Finland, Estonia) are like 6-furlong specialists entering the grand national. I mean, France is basically joint second fav, and no song yet, haha (and I still backed it). Praying someone else sends something good
By:
Sweden went to 4 when, if it waited a bit, could have got matched in the upper 5s. That suggests advertising money.
By:
It's not Heroes, it has nothing like the stick men and starbursts from the hands for the juries to admire. Everybody thought many pop songs from then on would use similar effects.
By:
Right now, gun to my head, I see something like Sweden 260J x 150T, Finland 100J x 200T, Estonia 55J x 280T, JOSH 310J x 190T
By:
Finland and Estonia both drifting and Sweden and Portugal being very well supported
By:
Yeah, some sudden support for Portugal. I guess people are listening to the songs before the Portuguese semi tonight?
By:
Okay, so Wiwiblogs saw him from the venue and apparently he is levitating, and it could win Eurovision. People crying in audience
By:
Yeah. The staging was always in safe hands as the same set up for iolanda. Sounds like it has far exceeded that too. Very promising !
By:
Well done guys. Odds will be shaken up some more if that's accurate.
By:
Few things tempers enthusiasm. We have seen price crashes for staging before, France with Viola for instance. Market can over react to these things. Also, what can be performed at Nationals might not be possible at Eurovision. Apparently Justyna with Poland also want to levitate but have been told the staging at Basel won't allow it (that is a flimsy twitter source so make of it what you will).

Mans 3.65 outright after performing. Personally not a fan. But I didn't particularly like Heroes either

This is a repeat of 2 years ago where I backed Sweden at 8s but layed off slightly lower in protest, only for them to win haha lesson not to be stubborn

2.8 even !
