Don't think he's taken the resounding defeat well |

He's right above you Clyde, you plonker

Sadly, we can add SPOTY to the 'infiltrated voting' list. We've seen it become more widespread over the years, but not usually with 'live' voting tallies, only periodic updates. Tonight, that all changed, with the most blatant, incessant and inexplicable backing of the winner we've ever seen in Specials. Most disappointing. Harumph!

Be interesting to see what Betfair do, if anything, about the insiders.

Ange mentioned a rugby campaign for Ellie. I wonder if things that happen on the night aren't more important. Don't know, just a thought.
Lando wasn't there, Chloe talked in monotone, was awkward, weird dress, Ellie relaxed and sociable, beautiful dress. |

Good judgement comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgement.
Come back fitter and stronger army |

I saved an image of the 10 minute graph for Ellie W/O. They didn't get too much matched there, too greedy.
By:
I think it's a lot simpler than that Henry. There were loads of negatives for Chloe beforehand. Thought her lack of sporting achievement compared to the others really shone through in her allotted slot though.

yeah, gbp are fair

Gloating is not too becoming, especially if there's not much to gloat about.

The Ellie votes had flooded in well before her VT though H.
Though I get what you're saying. She's such a lovely humble human. I thought she could squeak 3rd with the Lionesses vote split so I'm really over the moon for her, and the Red Roses, that she could come 2nd. |

Yes AR she was hampered by being last and so close to the cut off. But the bbc were ultimately very relaxed about Mc winning, so the heavy odds on shot was always going to be tough to beat.
The cut off was a fail from a production perspective. When it was down to three that's when they should have been appealing for votes. |
By:
the show itself doesn't seem to have any logical running order.
By:
The worst show yet, absolutely grim. Only the rory bit stood out

By:
the vt from the ex footballer was decent, but they never recreating the excitement of that penalty shoot out. as noted previously, I couldn't be sure og how the bbc would approach it and I do think that they stepped back from the female summer of sport to an extent. certainly they were happy if Mc won, and for me that could have gone either way. but the value was to oppose him
By:
Every vt seemed atrocious apart from rory
By:
I think they'll be very happy with how it went. The clear deserved winner Rory wins whilst the show really celebrating and showcasing women's achievements this year and a new representation for women's rugby in runner up.
But yeah, the Rory VT was golden, and Chloe's was extremely limited given the euphoria the nation felt when she hit that winning penalty. |

Lioness vts hidden in a mess of euro review, cup of tea time if ever I saw one
By:
His backers were extremely confident Rory was gonna win from the moment the panel decided the shortlist, and remained confident. I misread it, he simply was the 'national treasure' i didn't think he was and that probably happened along time ago tbh.
Fair play to him, its been owed since 2014 Happy New Year |

See you soon army, been enjoyable as ever. Sorry you didn't get the result you wanted

We'll never know what goes on in the bowels of bbc towers, army. As I said it was a 50/50 call in my view. We'll also never know how it would have played out if it had gone the other way. Perhaps they knew they had to try and protect the spoty brand. I got something wrong though, the RC obviously had a larger impact than I had bargained for.
By:
& Ellie might have even won it without that perm.
By:
Pent up demand, bit of a campaign. Always good in spoty. Top 2 had both yep
By:
Too early and lacking story for lando in retrospect. F1 popularity overestimated. Max probably more popular in UK than lando or hammy now
By:
Cheers chaps and everyone, yes they were the campaign runners tbf but the real truth is the BBC were happy for Rory to win. I agree in the respect Rory was the most deserving winner and anything less was a fail for brand SPOTY. You can safely say the women had a great run but it moves on next year intact. Another woman winner and maybe not so much
By:
Chuck didn't turn up either, holiday more important. I had a feeling he would not interrupt his likely holiday for spoty.
By:
Luke's was just a joke, he looked like he'd rather be sat in a dentist's chair having a tooth extraction.
By:
OK, yougov spoty can go in the bin too
By:
Polly winkers
By:
yeah that yougov did the damage
By:
It helped me lay my lando at lower prices tbf
By:
A weak plan b in the end, not established enough like Hammy was verses Rory and as you say everyone is a massive max fan. Lando makes too many mistakes in the best car on the planet.
Max would of won by 200 points |
