If he wins F1, I'd say he beats Luke for sure. Wink

Like I say, I don't personally believe enough people give a stuff about SPOTY. Though it's a debate for sure.

But that's proportionate. His fans will tune in to see him and vote

You're also at a historic high point in popularity for f1, and relative low for athletics

His fans that notice SPOTY will tune in yes - how many is that, total guess.

In comparison of the millions that watched the Olympics, many will tune in. I'd predict its a massive crossover of viewers in fact.

Not saying he's ruled out of course, but he will have to 'translate' it to votes in SPOTY.

Anyone fancy giving me an update of who Army thinks will win now. I can’t be bothered to go back over last 350 posts to see if Littler is still the greatest certainty of all time or he’s jumped ship again ?

Lando wins if he gets title, Keely wouldn't come remotely close. Littler would go very close with a massive campaign

The only way Keely wins is no Lando and no Littler campaign, even with the inevitable great VT she will get.

So basically any of the 3 can win under the right circumstances but Littler remains the value coz its highly likely he will get a campaign on some level, it's whether it grows into a monster or not !!

update over

Ainslie pulls it back a little with 2 wins today

NZ 4  Ainslie 2

Ainslie could land a comeback win, which would again likely shorten him a lot for SPOTY if dramatic.

Still think he loses the vote, but would impact the market...

Has the penny not dropped that Keely is home and hosed. Lando winning would only be due to capitulation of Max and Ainslie might be 3rd even if he wins Americas Cup.

Littler isn’t even a shoe in if going to Young Spoty now. Complete collapse and obviously not as good as looked….still top 4 in world but very beatable as last few comps have shown. Flash in the pan ?

Spoty is best in the world not nicest person. Keely ticks all boxes. Best in world and great back story. 1.55 is great bet.

It's shoo-in, a noun used to refer to something that is a "certain and easy winner." This sense of shoo-in first appeared in the late 1930s, but it had life as a noun before that.

very beatable as last few comps have shown. Flash in the pan ?

lol deary me, had that happened back in the early part of the year then he probably would of been seen that way !!

Unfortunately for his layers he has already cemented his superstar status at it stands, 9 PDC titles more than any other Pro this year, the fastest ever dart player to 500 180's and also the fastest to achieve four 9 dart finishes in a calendar year.
Also god knows how many other records on top of that, way too many, even more now than i originally posted and way too many to fit into his VT.

You can clutch at straws if it makes you feel better coz of his recent dip in form but it matters not what he does from now till Dec 15th. The legend has been born

Business's and the media are falling over themselves to get involved in the Littler mania that continues to dominate this country and world sport, he is without doubt the biggest news sport story of the year.
Two recent events have just cemented this fact, Gary's tantrum over his meteoric popularity and ITV enlisting him as there debut pro for the Christmas special.

Keep convincing yourself he won't win, coz you certainly ain't convincing me Wink

oh and if that wasn't enough for the doubters, he's now being compared with David Beckham

The media absolutely love this kid and that is what matters most in the build up to the award !!!
