He might get a decent boost when he comes in - whether he maintains is a different question.

A happy frankie in this field goes a long way, basically the same scenario as fred who everyone thought was gonna be a cheery ole soul

Needs to though, he's 4th favourite in the market!

Surely the horsey fan's dream of frankie dettori is a lot better than the reality of frankie dettori

Just like my dream of genial fred was a lot better than reality :)

Mid-afternoon, signing in to confirm I LOVE waking up to (today) 63 new posts! Something to enjoy as I have my first joint

Not sure I`ve played this very well so far as, in mach`s immortal words, `My book is just anticipating as yet unseen moves`...

Farage's price to win outright has been pretty crazy, and still is really.

Keep laying him and Dettori and backing Nella and Bellew personally. Danielle is an interesting price. Really warmed to her. Really like Sam too. Happy to just be himself even though most men in their 30s probably would be trying to act cool.

I prefer the win lay red myself - feels almost a lock to me, whereas top 3 still brings a bit of doubt if there's enough hardcore out there to get him there.

Plus for £1,500,000 they're likely to want to give him some longevity on the show !

i don't think the mainstream audience give two hoots about farage, massive hype being driven by some interested in politics, most of the country couldn't give a feck. brexit was an ice age ago, know one cares anymore.
Matt had much more hate attached to him over the care homes and not being able to see family members on there deathbed and being allowed to go to funerals. not seeing anyone, then learning the kooonts were having parties etc etc.

farage not getting the trial backs this up, he's a nobody these days

True. Him being there will have bought the exposure and new eyes in already. No need necessarily to go all out to keep him in there

Seems Georgia pulled off a great fee for Nigel it has to be said. Would have been much more explosive and worthy of it had he accepted closer to Brexit

Yep good points about Farage AR - they may want him to stay in at least, otherwise why bother paying him. Don't think they want him winning it though.

his race is run, not even that interesting around camp, just sat there waiting for someone to come at him again so he can get on his high horse and p1ss in there face coz he's very smart when it comes to politics...a topic most of us despise...so not even that helps his cause.

Though could be a repeat of Noel Edmunds - they paid him a fortune for basically feck all on the show! Laugh

Been a failure for itv basically

1.5m and it seems to have put viewers off, not encouraged more

The fat fee to Farage is just to get a high profile person on the show to get people to tune in at the start, after that if his continued presence does not boost viewing why would they care about him getting booted.
I do not find it to be a compelling argument that ITV will want Farage to stick around because of the fee, he is boring, top six would be my guess.

High horse Grin Fred thought it was his grande moment, and got swatted away like an annoying fly. Fred was really annoyed having to take on actual facts, bit different to twatter to be fair. Brexit is tedious, very tedious but it is the show and the other people on it that keep referencing it. There are many people, some of them on here, who would object to him whatever he did on the show. They prefer the 'evil' caricature. Hasn't been anything but civil to others in there. Unlike Fred.

I've not actually analysed it at all, but many factors contribute to viewing figures. I'm assuming 2022 was inflated due to going back to Oz, end of lockdown etc. Would need to see the trend over 10 years, day of first show etc to benchmark it properly. 2022 was also quite pants, I believe.

End of lockdown surely reduces tv watching, not increases it

I think farage has actually reduced the viewers all by himself

I'm A Celebrity's 2021 launch night viewing figures plummet by 2m next to 2020's historic lockdown numbers... yet show debut and Adele special still help ITV score its biggest Sunday of 2021

The 21st season of the ITV show kicked off in Wales' Gwrych Castle on Sunday evening and lost 1.9million viewers compared to last year's launch show

so basically it seems it was the same as 2021. and linear tv is trending down anyway, as we all know from the collapse of the xmas tv market. 2022 was the outlier, perhaps in part due to Hancock and seeing him going through the inevitable trials.

Agree. They got their exposure. No need to do him any favours now unless he's dragging in a big pull which it seems very clear he isn't.
