Lets just repeat the stats here - in the first 35 years of the ESC (1956 - 1991) the big 5 won 12 times (one year they had joint winners), in the last 30 years (1992+) there have been just 2 (1997 UK, 2010 Germany) - is this structural?
The 3 big 5 performances tonight for France. the UK and Spain were separate from the rest of the 2nd semi final, and that gives them a significance which the televoters on Grand final night won't experience - they'll be just another act. France's performance tonight was something which had been anticipated and had an effect on the betting market - for televoters on GF night it might just be - another shouty French bird - just saying............- |

One thing about Iceland after Switzerland - it's easy to dismantled the weird crystal ice hell he sings in when they have 3 mins of pre-recorded video to show. Perhaps the Swiss condemned themselves to this treatment..
