Caroline with ANOTHER slow dance. She's running out now so will have to take something a bit more lively on soon and she'll be in trouble I think. They obviously think so too as all been nice steady dances so far. Let's see her 'Flicks and Kicks' in the faster dances.

looks really impressive bursting with energy which it needs needs to continue to the end top half totally in synch with Aljaz just in places need to pick the leg up to be as in synch Max AmSm not as smooth as Ian would like atm but just in practice hold getting the steps should step outside on the toe rather than on the heel so he will rise in the body doesn't look like they have worked on footwork yet Ranvir CCC lvoes her skirt he is giving her lots of basic CCC steps so she can work on the technique needs to straighten her knee more by Saturday she should be perfect straight leg so you can snap into place JJ Jive a bit flat footed needs more bounce knee retraction good can flex foot more and get on ball of the foot HRVY Salsa Janette's dance he looks very comfortable, a natural talent should use his feet a bit more use them more so they don't look so big |

I think this is an interesting week for Ranvir to see how she does in one of the trickier party dances, as opposed to the slower more traditional BR she has had. I know she has had the QS but it was to quite a slow track so not as frantic as some.

While Caroline still seems to be on a path of all slower dances, she is going to have to step it up at some point unless she runs out of time.
JJ is moving on to something much more lively this week, and Nicola is performing something much slower and more traditional. So most interesting to see how those doing something different perform. More Ian Nicola AmSm going to be a challenge after the fast dances first part she is very upright and needs to do a lot more shaping Katya is pushing her into shape she needs to do a banana shape and stretch Maisie CCC fast staccato and slick needs to turn her feet out slightly they can be square and turned in and doesn;t always get on to the foot with a straight leg as quickly as she should Jamie Samba hopes he can bring his personality to it needs to work on technique weight transference finish his arms and hands off finesse and finer details Caroline Waltz looks beautiful and elegant going to be her dance there is a height difference and will be noticeable is she doesn't do the flower in a vase posture also gapping because of her hip movement Bill Couples Choice looks good whatever dance he is doing loves his energy and enthusiasm looks forward to seeing what he can do as he will slways apply the technique with his great sense of rhythm Gold star of the week to CLARA (Ranvir last week and was it HRVY the previous week?) |

I believe Shirley has been commenting on Maisie's footwork (obv really nitpicking because she is so good), but interesting to hear Ian picking up on it as well.

She is the stand out dancer we can all see that. They probably are nit picking about her footwork and I wonder if they gave as much scrutiny to everyone else's footwork would they in fact see the same thing?
I commented last week that Ranvir got all 9's and Bill two 9's. No way were they worth 9/10 come on so they obviously weren't nit picking them. Just wish they were true and accurate with their marking all round. |
