Seems a very down to earth girl, likable personality and will hopefully excel at the Bushtucker Trials / Dingo Dollar malarkey.Just about double figures on betfair ATM ......Gogglebox Scarlet and Danny Baker to beat.
From the hockey winners, she instantly struck me as easy on the eye, have followed her on Facebook ever since and her portfolio as instantly grown since she returned, attending and invited to many showbiz events. Whilst I'm not declaring she is a dead cert, I thought 10/1 was a good price to get involved with and hopefully the public will take to her quite easily.
Nobody can dislike an Olympic gold medal winner from GB... can they ?

Bit sceptical these days about IAC as a long term betting prospect. TPTB have become as bad as Cowell and, sadly, SCD for trying to fix it....weeks watching it then it all comes down to who they give the eating trial to in the final. On the other hand trying to second guess them part of the fun of the chase.

Never heard of her, can`t be bothered to do any research, but hemsby`s had a good few winners this year, so I`m following him in blindly.
GB2; the age-old practice of the final eating trial determining the winner went out the window last year, with Ferne getting it, loads of us backing her (at least for trading purposes), only for the historically-guaranteed price plummet not to happen!

Ferne, for some bizarre reason, was TCO but they were always flogging a dead horse up against Vicki. Obviously it doesn't guarantee victory but it helps ala Foggerty being manly while Jake had to stand there like a wassock having a few insects poured on him iirc.

IMAC is just a mainstream family entertainment show. It's meant to make you smile. The contestants that get shown are the ones that provide the best footage. It doesn't have a PC agenda like SCD and isn't a manipulation fest like XF, and the eviction format doesn't lend it itself to being manipulated like BB. Put simply it's the cleanest reality show of them all.
There's a lot to like about Sam, but I don't think she'll feature that much, except in the shower

Last year's winner spent some of her time in a state of undress.....can't see Sam sing this years "Bikini Babe" though, would imagine Ola Chops won't be shy.

I'm talking about production teams trying to influence the result. This is the least manipulated show imo
As for betting insiders XF is the worst. Tell me what you are talking about this show and how you know it?

Well bear and mach, two sworn and immortal enemies, are in agreement that Vicky was TCO; really don`t know how anyone who watched it could think otherwise? `What do I know?` Nothing more than the rest of us; that the last number of years has seen the most blatant market moves during the early morning, as events are unfolding in Australia; all you need to do is look at the overnight market moves to know who`s had a good day. Don`t know if the HS still price up BTTs, but they went down in forum folklore as the most informed markets in our little RTV world!

She was a good narrator and gave the most entertaining anecdotes. When she was in the BT she was more memorable than when others were in it so it would seem she was in it more than she was. You'd expect Scarlett to feature heavily in the BT this year for the same reason. If Jordan Banjo and Wayne Bridge aren't featured much in the BT it's simply because it's not entertaining.
This show has a fair eviction process. The BTTs, which are the main entertainment, are voted for by the public and then by the camp mates. In BB the eviction format is made up as the show goes along and tasks are given entirely up to the producers. In XF, air time, the story lines, the song, the draw, the judges comments and the VTs are all strategic. SCD is less strategic, but they still fix the draw, and the judges take away the public's choice.

Subjective, of course, but that`s tosh. She was, and is, a boring pain in the neck. Constantly being rammed down our throats, to the dismay of most on here, but she was TCO, she had to be featured and protected, she had to be got over the line. And she was.
Not really book talking, either; she, Scotty, and Louisa all won in short succession, and were all early max reds that I spent the whole series reducing down to level, so obvious was it that each of them were receiving unusually blatant and unfair levels of help. In fact, I look back on those three series, with three level-ish results as one of my finer periods of RTV betting; knew how wrong I`d called it and, for a change, did something about it, rather than hold on and hope. Quite proud of myself, I was, if you don`t mind me saying it!

Interesting debate about whether last year's winner won because she was the most entertaining,or because she was TCO and had most airtime.
It's a chicken and egg situation really.Did she get most airtime because she was entertaining,or was she the most entertaining because she had the most airtime ? It's understandable to take the latter view given that she is now hosting the spin off show this year, the suspicion being that this was always the plan.
TBH I've no idea in which order it works. This year we will have 3 former winners featuring prominently in the spin off show, namely Vicki,Joe and Stacey. Was they all pre planned winners,or are they here now simply by the virtue of being winners? As I say, chicken and egg.
My view is that certain contestants are favoured in the edit, predominantly because they provide the best entertainment.Arguments will be shown,as Will funny instances and moments of interesting conversation.Last year having backed Ferne to win,I had absolutely no complaints over how the show was edited in the last few days.....she was simply beaten by someone who was more popular. It could actually be argued that Ferne received the most favourable edit, especially in the Final.

I'm hoping that this year Sam proves to be worthy of airtime owing to a fun loving personality and a "pleased to be here" attitude.
I'm also hopeful that given her pleasant appearance and intelligence it may have crossed the minds of someone in the TV world that she could have a career in this area .

It's laughable to suggest that the prods don't try to influence the results on this show. CB is just teasing forumites clearly! From the BT, loading questions from prods, to who gets the trials, **** trials, who gets the dingo dollar challenges or whatever they're called, when the vote is open and closed, A&D's commentary, footage that only appears on itv2, footage that doesn't get shown at all. Ashleigh had that bizarre constant pimping her year and subsequently we found out she was signed a DOI judge. It's irrelevant though in the sense that it's our job to identify who will be supported, and who will provide enough material to be supported. Vicky crashed within a few minutes of her entrance, not because she was pimped but because she was quick witted and lively with the 'bantz' especially with A&D. If she could keep that up for 3 weeks, and the prods didn't try to nobble her she was always likely to win. Effectively she had an unassailable lead in the final and the prods knew that didn't have to give her a favoured last day (imho)

No one is suggesting that the producers don't exert influence on the result, but it's a question of degree. When you have a supposed talent contest where you get performances dubbed like with 5AM, fake cut and paste praise such as with the Fillipino girls and live vocals deliberately obfuscated, that is the field of manipulation this show is pitted against. This is the least manipulated reality show with the fairest eviction procedure and where the main segment is for the main out of the prods hands. They don't want the same people doing the BTTs every time, but often they can do almost nothing about it. When they did have a choice in the final 3 they gave Ferne the eating trial and she still finished third. Of course by that time they knew Vicky was almost certain to win whatever they did and perhaps they hoped the eating trial would help Ferne finish runner up. Ferne's star rose with the Chris Eubank incident and peaked with the snakes. Kieron Dyer's star rose by standing up for Lady C. Nothing much to do with the prods. When Vicky Ferne and the MIC fella entered the jungle, they all performed the same trial, but one of them stole the show. That wasn't prod's influence, that was due to the girl's personality.
When you have someone producing very entertaining footage such as with Eric Bristow or Lady C you don't choose not to show it because it's not fair. Ofc they would like these characters to stay as long as possible. I do happen to know that they kept the phone lines open long enough to save John Fashanu one time, but that was purely becuase he was providing the best footage. Pretty sure they did something similar with Peter Andre for the same reason, so it's not like it never happens.

It's more akin to BB where they have up to 24 hours of footage to fit into 25 minutes of television. It's heavily influences by producers, but in a different way as it's not a 2 minute performance from each runner. They do everything nowadays in their power to push the pv the way they want to go, but as you'll be fully aware the public don't always play ball. It's the same as bb also in that the live feed has long since gone, so where we used to see good stuff that didn't make the edit, or was cut in a favourable way, nowadays we are in ignorant bliss.

Last year the producers took a deliberate turn in the direction of a younger more GS type of edit, it had previously had a more gentle middle england feel imo Vicki's GS bantz is not everyone's cup of tea, if they want the same type of show this year Scarlett could be steered over the line with ease, just put her in every clip and feed her the lines in the bush telegraph

Being easy on the eye is of no advantage in this show. Most of the eye candy in the past have been voted off early or mid-pack for bringing little to the table personality-wise. From what I've seen of Sam Quek in interviews, she seems a bit of a cold fish. Unless she can fake some warmth and humour I don't see her coming close to winning.

As with the overwhelming majority of forumites, I can only hazard a wild stab in the dark as to why Sam has survived so long and from where/whom her votes are coming. Having seen off eight other runners I am more than happy to risk her going further at what seems to me a rather reckless price of 65+. Given the unknown nature of her vote to date I certainly see no value in laying that price (or maybe I’m just a scaredy cat). Overall more than happy to take her a very cheap green and hope the apparently inexplicable continues. On top of this, she seems like a decent sort and I would be delighted to see TPTB thwarted. As nobody has said yet this series.....CHAAAAAARGE!
