Yes, we agree on shirts
. I preferred Pur Pur in Ukraine but I do like the winner too. I Wear* Experiment my favourite ever song and artist/s to come out of the Eurovision process. I have all of their songs on my phone. |
By:
I was thinking of Sanna Nielsen. It was her 7th appearance at MF when she eventually won
By:
I didn't mind I Feed You My Love. Undo was awful though
By:
So awful it only managed a miserable 3rd place in the final. I wish the UK was that awful

Yes. Astonishing
Don't get me started on that Russian tripe from last year |
By:
fwiw I hate our last winner too. Shine a light. Woeful effort.
By:
Any reason for the slight drift on Sweden. People impressed with the Russian snippet? Or has a decent live version of Poland popped up?
By:
Probably no rhyme or reason. I got £80 at 11 on Poland yesterday. LPM 7.
Lots of yo yo'ing got to be great for the day traders like the much missed Timbuc. |

A proper con trick, 'Undo', the way only the Swedes seem able to pull off. Sanna's live vocal was massively enhanced by concealed backing singers.
Misheard lyrics, 'Undo my eye pain, undo my ISA' instead of 'Undo my pain, undo my sad' A very mediocre tune, along with Zlata's 'Gravity' imho. |
By:
Hmmm, not really a con trick to use backing singers as they're allowed. It was a good show, as is usual for Sweden. Think what a program ESC would be if all countries put in the same effort as Sweden.
By:
Like Melfest. Very dull
By:
Did you actually watch it? I like about 4 songs from MF better than anything from ESC so far except Poland.
By:
Not much of it. It's all way too sanitised for my liking. I've listened to the favourites though and only like Frans
Would Melfest ever produce songs like Suus, Sweet People, Love Injected, the simple charm of Satellite, the craziness of something like So Lucky or Laka :D, or countless others |
By:
It doesn't do the more esoteric stuff although there was something Swahili or Swahili-like this year and there was the Eskimo thing last year.
What's Laka? |

By:
I hadn't started watching it in 2008. Based on Laka I think that's a good thing.
I do like the other stuff you mentioned though. |
By:
It's one of my all time favourites. It still makes me smile when he emerges from the washing basket. A cracking tune too |
By:
I'm with Henry VIII. Based on what clips I've seen, I think getting into this in 2010 was the right time to come along. Poor old Terry Wogan, no wonder he got weary with it all up to 2008.
fll - What I love is that from around 40 countries Sweden's pop perfection (to me Popular is the perfect pop song, despite the dopey lyrics) mixed with quirkiness of Israel's Izabo (2012) Montenergo's spaceman rap (2013) Israel's golden boy and even the Russian grannies amongst others is what makes it interesting. So many countries means there's room for the full range of stuff. |

Frans 1.47...getting back on topic. Insiders?
By:
No. iTunes. He's only competed in SF4, which was weak. And nobody knows how the juries are going to vote.
By:
Just fishing Henry
...yes itunes...despite what bear the Frans layer says ![]() |
By:
He's sold less than 2,000 on itunes. Anyone backing on that needs to self exclude
![]() |
By:
nah...if itunes was a poll those numbers are more than enough to gauge opinion especially given the downloaders are now the five free app votes voters
By:
If he gets the pimp slot for the final then you know that SVT want to big him up for the winner. Or perhaps they will put Molly in the pimp slot with Frans 2 slots before her.
By:
Some acts are more likely to get downloads. Downloads and votes are completely different
By:
I wonder who wants a £5500 win bet on Frans at 1.5?

I think the 1.5 5K backer is reckless, but still none of us are laying it.
Downloads and streams are a younger average demographic than TV voters, but it's obv worth checking out all. Here is Spotify 1 If I Were Sorry by Frans 479,209 2 Work by Rihanna 225,834 3 Youniverse by Molly Sandén 217,536 4 Constellation Prize by Robin Bengtsson 207,832 5 Faded by Alan Walker 194,092 6 Bada Nakna by Samir & Viktor 189,641 7 PILLOWTALK by ZAYN 175,786 8 Human by Oscar Zia 173,749 9 Håll om mig hårt by Panetoz 169,000 10 My Heart Wants Me Dead by Lisa Ajax 158,664 11 Love Yourself by Justin Bieber 156,320 12 Kizunguzungu by SaRaha 153,764 13 Fast Car - Radio Edit by Jonas Blue 149,967 14 Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots 143,762 15 Save Me by Wiktoria 143,141 16 Me, Myself & I by G-Eazy 136,285 17 I Took A Pill In Ibiza - Seeb Remix by Mike Posner 129,329 18 Don't Worry by Ace Wilder 123,684 |

By:
bear says 479,209 isn't enough...and anyway they are nearly all Swedes as they invented Spotify...and IKEA....
By:
As that was the Swedish Spotify charts I would expect them to be all Swedes in this case
