I’ve been doubtful but I’ve just seen he’s 68 in the Global Spotify. That may not sound much but only little Sweden have heard him so far, so that’s just from their streams, 500K. He’s the first ESC effort to make the Global T200 so far.

So because of that and other stuff I thought the little brat deserves his own thread. It does stand out and I guess Sweden will become be the new favourite.

Spotify, the world’s most popular streaming service, was founded in Sweden. Streaming now accounts for a staggering 79% of the Swedish record music market and Spotify has higher penetration in its home market than anywhere else in the world. It makes sense that the Swedish contestant would have a natural leg up here.

The numbers are from a single day, in Sweden. So it's a like for like comparison. Frans will have more streams than last year's winner if he makes it through the nationals, seems reasonably positive to me.

Another thing to take into consideration with regards to the entry by the host nation is that the host nation when picking their position in the Running Order in the final they do not pick to decide first half or second draw of the final. The host nation actually draw to decide their actual starting position. For example if they pick number 4 then they perform 4th in the final.

Only the host nation draw to pick the actual starting position number in the final. The Big 5 draw to decide first half or second half. Last year Austria the host nation drew their running order position on 16 March 2015 at the heads of delegations meeting, drawing starting position fourteen.

Favourite at 5/1 for the whole thing.... or take the evens about him winning the national competition?

You'd have thought five free votes would make even the lazy tweeting teens vote for him. Already talk of plagiarism but previous years show that is a red herring.
