***It's the XF Final Weekend IR Thread 13/14 Dec 2014***

Not wanting to be argumentative with our new family member, cnman, but I`d suggest not. As was widely discussed, we didn`t know if it was ALL votes or only phone votes. Personally, I`m trusting the Star implicitly, which means the 50% was only phone votes.

hmm looking at the figures Tim, Ben 36%, Fleur 24% last week. Maybe they meant Ben had 50% more than 2nd place?

Plausible theory, boys, but The Star told us;

Ben 50%
Fleur 22%
Andrea 16%
presumably leaving Lauren with 12%

Who knows but, given the ambiguity of what the 50% actually referred to, and The Star`e 100% (yes, really, 100%) XF record, I`ll still be placing bets based on their next leaks.

Perhaps the free voting/app squeezed them up more than usual. I'm going to leave my analysis until tomorrow

I think this casts major doubt on Star leaks for the future.

Reckon so.

I had a lot on her at 10 down to 8 early doors the live shows and did lay a fair whack around 3/1 but thought she got stitched up the last 4 weeks or so with song choice, clothing & VT's.

Having said that, she didn't improve much week to week and never had a killer performance.

Still annoying the way they never bigged her up in the later weeks

That was a pretty bad leak from the Star. They didn't even get the bottom 2 positions the correct way around.

The thing is, if you were in The Star leaking that information on a guess with the intention to move the market and buy Fleur back in they could actually have lost a hell of a lot of money thinking she'd actually won it...Maybe the reason for the massive market movement back towards Fleur up to evens?

All a conspiracy but not beyond reason.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't just the phone votes. A small proportion of the total vote now and you'd expect phone voters to be older and favour Ben & Andrea over Fleur & Lauren

For some reason I remebered only tonight that I placed some bets on different Simpson characters to be killed off quite a while ago (turns out it was October 2013!).Couldn't remember who I'd backed,but checked all my old accounts and found £150 in a Corals account (£15 @ 9/1 Rabbi Hyman Krustofski ) Turns out he was killed off in September (R.I.P Rabbi HK)

Goggleboxing? Anyone who trusted them last year with Sam Bailey could have been in trouble this year, if they`d shown us more of XF over the last month or two. Every front room wanting Andrea, thinking he was `best`. Also, interesting to see the levels of seriousness some of them showed re Andrea. Far stronger feelings aroused than I would have expected, given his two B2 appearances. Pretty much blanket indifference to Fleur and Ben. My book would certainly have been worse if we`d been shown such pro-Andrea sentiment.

Once we knew Cowell wasn't going to back Andrea, it was game over for him there and then. SamBa was the exception as 9 times out of 10, acts like her are nobbled. It gave us a false impression that Gogglebox was a great form guide.

You liked it, fll? I seem to remember hating it. There wasn`t that much liquidity on it, only us lot playing against each other, and the reveals took all of the inspired insight/guess work out of it.

After week 5 Sk would have been favourites

I only had a few small bets on it tim. As you say no liquidity. My favourite memory was Brushy's Intensity Express crashing out the 1st week
I do think it would be fascinating if they released the percentages every week though. I still reckon there would be plenty of value about and disagreement as to who was going to win

ofc this year it was very close until the last couple of weeks. In previous years acts like Cardie would have been odds on very quickly and just continued to shorten throughout

On the other hand Burka would have been a much bigger price in the early weeks

Jeez how awful  ...... Never a good time for something like this,but to lose her just before Christmas just adds to the pain

I remember on at least one occasion that Parissa was absent from the Sunday night Xtra Factor show....iirc no precise reason was ever given.Little doubt in hindsight she was rushing off to spend time with her Mum.

Great credit to the kid for getting through the series with this forever in the background.Perhaps if she was a solo act she would have pulled out,but possibly felt an obligation to her band mates to continue.Also huge kudos for keeping it under wraps,and not using it to garner sympathy......an intensely private matter and kept as such.

Seems like in the last few years her Mum was a driving force behind the band,allowing them all to live at her house whilst they attempted to make it......lovely that she saw her daughter have some degree of success before she shuffled off this mortal coil.
