There are thousands being requested at prices between 1.7 & 1.74 which at any point this week could have been matched around 3/1. |

fwiw my view is that Ben has topped the vote for the last 6/7 weeks and by a decent distance. I doubt he got 50% last week, probably more like 40%. This is obviously a cynical move from Syco to get votes for Fleur but I'd be surprised if they could close the gap enough. Probably just trying to make sure she gets 2nd
Laid plenty of 1.4x earlier as I was lucky enough to read the article before the market had reacted, took some out @ 2.3, 2.06 and 1.67 Ben but still got vast majority of my green on him |

I don't believe The Star reports what Syco wants them to report. I don't think an article like this impacts on the voting intentions of the core voters.

I'm inclined to think they do, they don't get the results by accident. Cowell obviously has a hell of a lot of media links, you only have to look at the negative press for the acts he's been deramping in the past

I think other tabs print what TPTB want, but not necessarily The Star and not in these instances.

Blatent market manipulation by The Star . Fleur leads Haenow in every online poll, apart from the star. Couldn;t care less who wins as I'm both green but this is reckless market manipulation almost akin to what Piers Morgan did at The Mirror.

I don't know how long ago The Star got the leak, but the papers must have been printed last night so it was 10+ hours before there was any market movement so it doesn't look like those at The Star were actively involved

Agree AA, leaker MIGHT only have access to phone votes (not app votes). Also vote count MIGHT have been taken after 1st performance (after Fleur poor song and before her great 2nd song).

fair enough with the phone votes only thing Scampi, although couldn't agree about a vote count after first performance. Nobody would give any credence to that enough to go to print with when there was still 24 hours of voting left to go. Why would there even be an official vote count then?
