In 2014, Dot is told by the police that Nick has died of respiratory failure from a heroin overdose the previous week. The policeman who delivers the news to Dot reveals himself to be Nick's son Charlie Cotton, named after his grandfather. He explains that he was conceived from a brief marriage Nick had with his mother Yvonne. During the funeral, Charlie and undertaker Les Coker conspire to prevent Dot from looking in the coffin. Dot grows suspicious of Charlie's true identity and invites Yvonne round to tell the truth. Yvonne assures Dot that Charlie is indeed her grandson. When Carol Jackson asks Charlie for advice, he leaves his mobile phone at her house. She answers a call on it, and discovers that Nick is alive. After this episode was broadcast, and following months of speculation, on 29 July 2014 it was announced that Altman would once again be reprising the role of Nick Cotton.[16] |

The killer is going to be revealed in February when it's the 30 year anniversary of the opening episode where Reg Cox was found dead having been beaten and left for dead in his home. 3 years later Nick Cotton confessed to Den Watts that he was responsible for the murder.

Contrary to you, fll, I have stopped watching EE since Dyer and his family were all parachuted in, taking over the whole of the programme. Not one likeable character, they`re not what makes up EE. We want Nick and Dot, Phil, Ian, Patrick, etc.
Now, after the first Corrie, I just let the tele blare away with whatever`s on, waiting for the second episode, rather than endure Dyer and Co. He`s not too bad, himself, it`s the rest of them. I hate EE now. |

Phil is as wet as Ian these days Dot and Nick are great characters and I like the Brannings...and ofc Stacey who is a superb |

In the episodes of EastEnders that air in the week commencing 24th November, the Lucy Beale murder plotline is set to take a dramatic turn while Denise Fox unearths Lucy’s mobile phone and purse, and perhaps tellingly, her discovery sends Jay into a panic…
The drama begins when Patrick (Rudolph Walker) receives a letter from the council informing him that they intend to give his allotment to someone else. The news upsets Patrick terribly, so Denise (Diane Parish) promises him that she’ll sort it out. She then heads over to the allotment with a view to tidying it up – so that the council can’t accuse Patrick of neglecting it – but as she digs up the weeds, she’s horrified to find,, murder victim Lucy’s phone and purse. Scooping the items up and into a bag, she hurries back to the Square, but unsure what to do next, she calls in on Masood (Nitin Ganatra) to ask his advice. However, unbeknownst to Denise, Jay (Jamie Borthwick) has seen her uncovering the grim evidence, and in a panic, he phones Ben (Harry Reid) who’s soon just as frantic as Jay is. Can they get to Denise before she goes to Ian (Adam Woodyatt) or the police with her find? |

Just been to a few shops and topped up on Lola. Got about £350 now on at prices from 9/2 to 14/1 (would have more but it's pretty tough when Coral max is £25 and Ladbrokes £10). Pretty bullish on it given the prices, have it as more a 3/1 shot

A huge gamble is developing on Lauren Branning to be revealed as Lucy’s Beale’s killer in Eastenders, according to Ladbrokes.
In the last 24 hours a significant amount of money has been wagered on Lauren to deliver the final blow to Lucy, seeing her odds collapse into 6/1 from 20/1. Jane Beale remains the favourite with the bookies at 9/2, followed by Jay Brown and Nick Cotton at 5/1. Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “If the momentum continues it won’t be long before Lauren’s the favourite. Punters have thrown their cash at her odds and it’s seen her shoot towards the top of the betting.” |
