Theyre rarely jointly owned or responsible......although nice neighbours will usually go halves. If it goes, look in the deeds to see who owns it.

Typically you are responsible for the right hand fence as you look outside you back door (and thus obviously the left side of the front garden!)

Spent 3K on putting up a new fence there this year, plus the fence along the the bottom of the garden..oh and some decking
I wanted to do the other fence at the same time, as it's old and just those flimsy fence panels.
The old dear nextdoor said it was a down as a shared fence on the deeds. I was happy to pay half but she wasn't interested. Tbf she's recenty lost her husband so probably the last thing on her mind.
50/50 the fence is still standing in the morning I reckon

When she sees the fence in bits and your sheep eating her begonias, she may want a new fence.

One fence post down. Amazingly the flimsy fence panels still standing. Probably being held up by the ivy
