More of an argument over whether there was inside money than how GS won.
We get that after every well backed winner lands the odds though.
I think if you watch the show hems, you'll see why GS shortened. No evidence of insider money for me.

Weird series for me.I fancied GS to possibly buck the trends,but never though her price was big enough.

Must confess though I expected Abz to win tonight,although I did post my concerns yesterday that as he was the "none of the above" candidate it may not transfer to actual votes.

I think CCB did as well as his band were singing the show out tonight!

Hope aa kept his green,as I think he was wavering yesterday.

Not sure how aa did. He doesn't tend to play til late these days.

Night all & well done winners for recognising the 'yoof' of today are that messed up to actually vote for GS!

Not just the yoof Lucky.  We need to take as much as we can from this learning wise.  One factor not discussed was the viewing numbers. Someone posted about 1.7m the other day. Do we know what the final figures were? The lower the numbers the more accurate twitter becomes.  Someone posted the "to win" tweets and GS was ahead of that iirc.  Normally with the mass viewing events you can safely ignore twitter but with minority events it can clearly still be a good indicator.

IMO you're right GB, personally think viewing figures & voting numbers a lot lower than last year due to most viewers having switched off by the final week, a poor series compared to last year when Spedi made things a bit more interesting. High light of this show was an adult wetting her bed

...& people still voted for her!

Big Brother 2013 ended to some disappointing viewing figures last night.

Around 1.7 million viewers watched who won Celebrity Big Brother 2013 in the second of the night’s show, which aired at 11PM.

An average audience of 2.2 million watched the final instalment from the house and first results from 9PM on Channel 5.

But 500,000 fewer cared about actually seeing who won between the final two, as ratings dived for the later show.

And those figures include those who caught up later using Channel 5′s catchup service.

Overall, this year’s Celebrity Big Brother was pretty much in line with last summer’s series, with an average audience of around 2 million viewers.

Elsewhere on last night’s telly, and Channel 5′s new reality series Celebrity Superspa, started with 1.1 million inbetween the two Big Brother episodes at 10PM.

To be honest I wasn't going to bother watching her winning it as I already knew the result.
Can't believe they don't announce the winner live. Two really crappy finals this year.

The C5 guy said at Edinburgh that they went for slightly older and more intelligent HM's in the main BB this year, which led to the most successful BB for many years.
In CBB they change tack and stupidly chase the 'yoof' again. Pushing a yoof fav to victory. Marginalising the older and more intelligent HM's and painting them as boring old fogies. Hence I suspect alienating their core audience. The same mistake C4 made with the Belo series

We were caught out by a combo of things

Lower audience figures - some mems having switched off
Our man perhaps not appealing to mems quite enough
Poor coverage of him in the last 2 days plus a bit of a GS ramp
The youngster actually capturing the imagination of the youth for once
Vote transfer to her after Carol fcked it and Mario proved useless. She prolly had some slummy mums vote by the end

Same people who liked Katona, Denise and Paddy

A few times I've made the mistake of not paying enough attention to the momentum right at the death. It switched with a couple of days to go

Great last 3 posts GB, totally agree. Really do think Charlotte's speech was enough to inpire the younger viewers to vote even more than they would have  and the older viewers to change their opinion of her (thinking  back to their younger days perhaps). The 8.30-9.00pm show was literally a Charlotte Ramp Mini Highlights Show.  Oh hindsight is such a wonderful thing :(.

Nah, I don't think we realise so much that the voting dynamic and the actual people that vote change a bit every series. Probably more so on CBB than BB. Who can explain the Paddy / Katona top 2?  A grunting gypsy with very little overage and one of those most awful women in Britain. Fortunately the polls indicated both were popular

Denise and Frankie both beat the conservative choice of Gareth

Perhaps the conservative mem vote that won it for Sam is declining too gradually

It seems CBB audiences like a bit of bad behaviour

So basically its all won in the house? Paddy and Frankie overturned their public image/stereotypes. Gareth showed he was basically boring even though before going in he ticked a lot of boxes. Denise showed the vulnerability that MEMs could relate to unlike Carol or Vicky.

Always was, GS won it in the house too, despite protests to the contrary

And Carol lost it in the house, a crucial factor in GS winning

Which means its a very democratic process where the "electorate" give every candidate a chance afresh...unlike politics where 95% have made their mind up even before they know who is standing in their area.

I asked army who looked the most vulnerable in the house when it was kicking off between Vic and GS

I backed GS, unfortunately getting cold feet later when she was joining in the bitching about Lauren. That didn't matter, it was what most of the audience thought too

So many winners have that vulnerable trait, unfortunately the forum thought that meant lauren

Lauren was outed as a gameplayer...tbf to GS layers/non backers there were so many times it looked like she had blown it e.g. the twitter messages that who could blame a cautious approach.

Lauren wasn't vulnerable, she was needy and desperate.

We are probably underestimating the slummy mummy vote that wanted to mother her

I doubt the youth vote was enough alone, and now we'll prolly overestimate it in future heats

Just watch that Bouncers series set in the north east. Young girls, their mums and their grandmothers all out on the lash together and the grans are more up for it than the kids. The grans are mostly in their 40s. Why would they hate GS when they are just older versions?

Think we'll have to create a new demographic: JKM=Jeremy Kyle Mums. I partly blame his program (and programs like Geordie Shore) for bringing down the morals of this country. The more that people watch it the more they think that sort of behaviour is acceptable. The program does seem very popular amongst woman. I have to leave the room when it's on.
