Looks like a 5 week run according to Wiki.
Has anyone spotted the format yet - perhaps 3 heats, a semi and a final? |

tmix take on Splash shamelessly copied from the other thread
ITV has confirmed the fifteen contestants taking part in new diving show Splash!, with the likes of Joey Essex, Jade Ewen and Jennifer Metcalfe set to take the plunge. The contest – hosted by Vernon Kay and Gabby Logan – will see Olympic hero Tom Daley teaching his sport to the celebs, before they demonstrate their skills in a series of Saturday night live shows. The first three will be ‘heats’, each of which will feature five stars competing against each other for two places in the semi-final. Actor Jake Canuso, comedians Omid Djalili, Sugababes singer Jade Ewen, TV presenter Jenni Falconer and actress-comedienne Helen Lederer will face off in Heat One. Heat Two involves glamour model Caprice, ski jumper Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, TOWIE star Joey Essex, TV garden expert Diarmuid Gavin, and Sky Sports presenter Charlotte Jackson. Finally, gracing the boards in Heat Three are interior designer Linda Barker, funnyman Dom Joly, Shameless actress Tina Malone, boxer Anthony Ogogo, and Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe. The contestants will have to mix drive and determination as they choose which heights they want to dive from. Their efforts will be scored by a panel of judges – Daley, former Olympic diver Leon Taylor, Team GB coach Andy Banks, and comedienne Jo Brand – with viewers voting for their favourites. In each heat, the celeb with the most public votes will automatically win a place in the semi-final. The next two top vote-getters then go head-to-head in a ‘Splash-off’, with the panel deciding who should advance. Splash! begins this Saturday at 7.15pm on ITV1. |

I think I'll wait. Shows with poor liquidity and viewers have been a nightmare to do too much in advance in the past.
By:
Daley will surely be a pull.

Tina Malone wont be worth one

No reason why betfair can't open some 1st heat markets.
Top of the pv and to qualify. |
By:
Jackson has a weak heat
By:
no barry from eastenders ?
can we get a market for his advert to be shown during the show ? |
By:
Agree Heat 2 looks look the weakest.
Broadly a straight out popularity contest this especially with top of the vote automatically progressing - don't really see how the public can be a particularly good judge of how good a dive is. Jo Brand on the judging panel hardly ramping up the diving expertise. |

By:
Looking at the Dutch version the best divers made the final
By:
at least Jo Brand isn't getting her kit off and doing a dive
By:
Thanks for that image in my mind squares

The Dutch version might not have been a straight pv tho.
My Dutch isn't great |
By:
there look to be a few obvious ones for each heat but just a case of whether you get any bad ones who are so bad they're hilarious

I would imagine Daley will be keen on educating the GBP on what is and isn't a good dive
Watching some of the Olympics it wasn't that difficult to spot, .................... What makes a good dive? A man in a diving tuck The most obvious thing to look for is the entry into the water. Ideally a diver should go through the surface of the water making as small a splash as possible. They also need to enter the water as close to vertical as possible. During the dive the feet must be pointed and together. Whilst they are tumbling through the air a diver must keep a tidy and controlled shape, normally in one of three positions. The straight position (no bending at the hips or the knees) Piked (bending at the hips, but not at the knees) Tucked (body bunched up tightly, with the hands on the lower legs) |
By:
all these Dutch references sound a bit pornographic
By:
..or no pv at all.
By:
The public will vote for who Daley tells them too.
Well all the young female and gay ones anyway |
By:
Mercedes obviously angling for a massive sympathy vote

By:
did JenF do well on that celebs on horseback thing?
By:
I guess if Jen is out in the 1st round it will mean she has plenty of time to turn upto DOI and look hurt
By:
She won it squares
By:
Daley's role could be crucial here - he's very popular and what he says will make a big difference.
People who are interested in voting for the best diver will listen to him first - certainly worth keeping an eye out for any indication of who his favourites might be. It's not like XF/SCD/BGT where people are more likely to form their own opinions on singing/dancing etc |
By:
she's always got a face on so looks hurt at the best of times

I've laid £2 @ 8

Jake seems a bit of a fitness freak.
He's very different to his character when I've seen him on other stuff - not what you would expect. |
By:
He's been a dancer as well.
