I’ve just realised I am biased, just got a wad at 40 making her my biggest green. (I see everything apart from Ella backing as short term mind).

Yeah, no real threat I guess Henry. She ain't no Leon. Macmanus was rubbish but the competition was awful

Their biggest problem is keeping the illusion going that its a close contest.Quite possible Ella even has a change of gear ie playing piano,or singing another self penned number.Ive got £170 @ 7/1 and £40 @ 9/1,but owing to covering virtually the whole field,I'm only £800 green.Only 3 reds mind (District 3,Jade and Jahmene)

4K Ella here. A mass of  reds though – Jahmene, Jade, all bands, Chris, Rylan – one of which will probably have a run at some stage.

I thought last year was tricky to pick the winner, but really this year is prolly going to be much more difficult to get a decent profit!

Can you imagine the forum meltdown if Ella gets ill or something? Grin

It can happen.

I do think most on here are over doing it with Ella.  Like I say if I had to choose one act as the winner then yes I'd choose her but at even money after just one week of the show I think is really short.

I agree there's not much up against her but to put all your faith in her is a little too optimistic I think.  If you've got nice ante post odds then I'd definately be looking at selling some off at even money but hey ho.

Most of them do at some point. I reckon they have her in a sterile oxygen tent though Wink

They’ll push others Lou for variety but they won’t de-ramp Ella. She may have a bad week of course.

She really has come from nowhere. Unless I’ve missed it and someone has a link to a pre-XF Ella recording?

I know Little Mix came from nowhere but there was a high degree of manufacture. With Matt and Rebecca I was able to dig up past evidence of decent voice and experience.

I wonder who the big Ella layers are. Nobody on here (be brave, own up if you’re out there).

The HS are the big ones I guess

Yes veru few seem to go against her yet who's laying all the bets then?  I haven't backed or layed her for a penny myself.  I just honestly think that even money is really tight at this stage and people seem to be counting their money.  I don't think it's quite that obvious she'll win.

Prices are tight though. I guess until the weekend when there’s a run on whoever is pimped.

Hopefully if there is to be a challenge, we'll see them coming a mile off.  I'd rather be sitting on top of the ella castle, than trying to scale the walls Cool

I don't see anyone bar a boy band beating Ella, and for that to happen a lot of things need go just right for them, both bands getting better and driving the naritive of the show to make it - which one do you like UJ or D3? getting the girls and mums screaming.
prob won't happen, making ella not great value but not bad value either.

And then in the final, the boyband vote falls away and Ella p1sses up.  Too many old gits voting in the final for a boyband to win, certainly this year

So more old gits voting this year then GB? Crazy

If JLS and 1D can't win then neither of these lot will.

Eh HF?  Old gits (over 30s) always decide the final.

RMB, jls were to urban and black, one-direction were crap on the show, there run started to late and they did not have very similar band to fight against for best boyband that year.
the Muffins won, a boy band can win for sure if everything goes right for them
having said that i'm not in any hurry to lay my ella greenGrin

You were right on the muffins winning bit, but that's only last year
By:

When: 09 Oct 12 22:41
Can a boyband win? It all depends who the vote is against. I'm pretty sure the muffins won simply because of the limited alternatives available for a large percentage of viewers.

One might just as well argue that if Rebecca Ferguson can't win then neither can Ella, but is there a Matt Cardle around to beat her this year?

No, but there's a Rebecca Ferguson around to beat any boyband.

They managed to sell LM to families, and just managed to avoid the Marcus win. Much more difficult to sell the ethos of 4 17 year old lads who just want to sh ag as many girls as possible before the records sales end

Ella strikes me as a tad more mainstream than Bex
