UJ not polling well and no one thinks they're in danger.

liking my Jahmene bets in the without Ella market, took more @2.88 there

Jahmene making lovely progress on that poll.

Both boybands doing awful there,Jahmene and Ella clear,James still a fair way behind.

Am on that too Mach got a fair bit of 5/2 to 2/1 earlier today

James has improved signiicantly over the last 2 weeks.
He was polling 3 or 4% for the 1st couple of weeks.

That looks like an oldster influenced poll to me. It's a bit worrying for Kye, only 6% think he's in the most danger, not many voting to save.

james and baloney are both polling similar, and they both won't win for the same reason, to niche in their appeal

The certainty is that there is no certainty this week!

I don't think anyone could go against D3 being the most likely to go on the evidance

only the twitterati can save them but tbf to them they seem to have more support than uj on it.

The way the market stands at the moment I see only UJ as any real value.

On all eveidence they just cannot be 10 times the price of D3!!

yes I agree. spoils have them at 6/1 and have had some of that.  had so many different bets/combinations I don't know what I want ....at the risk of being hindsight if the twitterati prefer D3 to them who in the GBP votes for them?

I'm mostly on D3 b2 as that is what I am seeing plus its insurance against my bet on them for top group.

I said they are doing worse on HG but better on twitter than UJ....no mind to make up it is what it is.

It makes sense to back them to go if you're on them for top group

yes I have. no liquidity on here to lay off. Other option was backing uj at 1/2ish on the HS but if DS go tonight I will make a smallish overall profit.

These polls are of limited value this year due to the viewing demographic I think...

The support for Chris (and to a lesser extent Rylan) is not reflected in these polls at all.  In fact the only one where Baloney registers highly is TV Polls.

Trouble with Tellymix and DS is that they clearly are not the people voting - otherwise we would have very different results.

Oh I'm sure you're right but surely we would all rather our acts polling well on any poll rather than not obviously.
I'm just pointing out that on these two polls, albeit of little significance Ella is not even heading one anynore and the field are drastically closing in the other.  Ella backers would ideally she still be a long way ahead in both.

Yes, I agree that the polls are still a useful barometer - providing we factor in who is likely to be voting.

Of course you would rather be nearer the top end than the other - but it doesn't seem to be affecting Chris!

Almost 7000 votes now.  Still Ella nicely ahead with Jahmene now a clear second.  James right up there but the rest a mile adrift.

Was blindingly obvious that they should get rid of D3 as soon as they hit b2 if they wanted a boyband to have a run at this... they must've known the vote would be split between them putting them both in trouble

Chris looks as safe as houses.
UJ maybe the value for B2 as more people think D3 are in danger.
Ella down 1% from last week, so could be in danger.

You may well be right but I'd rather the figures over 2480 or 24800 ideally as it would surely be more accurate.

They don't poll that many for the US election Lou and got it pretty accurate. Sometimes less is more.

If you could guarantee robust sampling that would be more than enough.

Its probably us chasing our own tail...a lot of those sampled are us...we vote with our books....because we are quite astute as a group our books are an accurate insight...full circle.....

GB2 - you highlight my main concern with TV Polls.  Yes, it is one of the most accurate historically - but is that due to our input or in spite of it?!

I would guess that specials bettors make up around 25% of the sample - although they do include a question on whether or not you bet on outcome.  Would these be used to 'filter' results more accurately?

The X Factor 2012 stars took to the stage for the seventh time on Saturday night, but who did you rate?


The remaining contestants took on their favourite guilty pleasures ahead of the quarter finals next weekend.

Last of the girls, Ella Henderson wowed with You’re The One That I Want, but Union J disappointed Nicole with another track being performed on top of a box.

Gary Barlow wanted James Arthur to win after the singer performed a unique cover Can’t My Eyes Off Of You, while Rylan called Gary fat as the Essex performer split the judges!

Nicole branded Christopher Maloney creepy as Tulisa “admitted defeat” while Jahmene Douglas closed the show with another fantastic vocal.

But that’s just what the judges had to say.

Yes. Chris clearly not going away ....and we know from the star that even though tvpolls has been the one poll that has shown reasonable support for him, it's still vastly underestimating his vote.

James backers are forgetting some golden xfactor rules, dirty busker types that rap sometimes with tattoos won't win. and you can take that to the bank!

If James had been MEM friendly from the start I would give him a big shout in this, but he wasn't so he was B2 last week, people have their favs now, and James isn't popular enough
