I think this slot for J+C is ideal, it'll hopefully stop Ashleigh and Pudsey's momentum at the earliest point possible and make the rest of the week about J+C.
Not only that, the acts following this are low down in the bookie's rankings. The Loveable Rogues, Ryan O'Shaughnessy and T+P Dance Company are the next faves after Monday night's semis, not too much of a threat IMO. |

Some food for thought tonight, did my dough on backing OBA to win at 7/4, in hindsight their pimp slot was a red herring and tonight was about killing their chances following their decision to sing a song of their choice. The decision to move The Mend into semi1 was imo to give the wildcard credibility. People will be voting following Thursdays show choosing the best of the 5 rejected acts, whichever act this is (most likely the mend) goes into the final with some momentum. Had the judges chosen the mend OBA would have had that momentum. The Mend are high profile enough to give the wildcard vote credibility after all who finished 4th tonight? Zippy? without the switch he would have been the rejected act doesnt have the same ring.Might be wrong but makes sense to me.

I thought A & D said the judges would choose the WC on Friday from all the remaining semi finalists?
Has it now been changed that the public vote from the "third" placed acts?? |

Sorry missed later last night, although cant be sure I thought a public vote was mentioned last, or maybe its the fact that a public vote following Thursday show gives them revenue and interest up to the final.

I didn't hear much more about it on more talent apart from Mulhern asking the judges (sans SCowell) who they would consider from last night's show - Alesha and Amanda The Risk, Walliams Zippy. |

Ant and Dec announced on tonight’s first live show that after all five semi-finals this week, the judges will be able to select ONE act who didn’t get enough public votes to make the final. Every night until Thursday, nine acts will perform for the public votes, with 2 performers each night making the live final on Saturday. On Friday, the judges will select from the 35 ‘rejected’ acts one wildcard entry to compete in Saturday’s final. |

That's the impression I got from what A&D said at the start of the show.
Hard to know whether this is just going to be another damp squib (probably), whether it is to inject some more variety into the final if it is virtually all singers or something, whether it will dilute someone else's vote, or whether the WC will be bigged up. Was a damp squib when SCowell brought the French dancer back last year iirc. |

The judges, esp Walliams, seemed mad keen on that young comedian but they showed virtually nothing of his act.

blimey - who'd have thought it  BGT Bias Row BRITAIN’S Got Talent is at the centre of a fix row amid claims that bosses are favouring some contestants. The live semi-finals, which kicked off last night, were rocked by backstage squabbling. Some wannabes feel producers already know who they want in Saturday’s ITV1 grand final and are pulling out all the stops to make sure they get their way. According to sources, one who has voiced her concerns is singer Rachel Knowland. The 25-year-old, who was eliminated in last night’s semi, was seen for just a few seconds during Saturday’s final audition show. However acts such as opera singer Jonathan Antoine, 17, and Ryan O’Shaughnessy, 19, got a lot more air-time. Show boss Simon Cowell, 52, has said that in his opinion not all the semi-finalists are worthy of a place. But last night an ITV spokesman denied claims of bias. She said: “It is impossible to give the 45 semi-final acts the same amount of air-time in auditions. “The running order is based on getting the right mix of acts.” |

You could tell by Rachel's face she knew she was just fodder. Wrong show. Married to a teacher like the middle classes generally she is kicking off in the same way she would if they wanted to build a wind farm near her house. Never underestimate the sharp elbows of the middle class.

I don't know if it was coincedence but when ITV posted the list of acts performing on Sunday, they posted them in the exact running order. The chances of that happening randomly are extremely small.
