Having the tourny of his life Slessor isn't he?

Probably financially, but he's made a few QFs and SFs in the last couple of seasons.

yeh, would guess 50k (at least now) would be his biggest unless there was a semi he's had above that...

Also from 4-1 down to his 123 ranked opponent in the 2nd match he played here!

Lan's a 16-year old first season player, so his ranking's not necessarily an accurate reflection of his ability.  He beat Ishpreet and Lyu in his two preceding matches, so he looks pretty decent.

Yep, Slessor must be wondering how he wasn't out at that point though, and now sitting pretty.

500 k to the winner of a tourny with nobody there, and they want to call it the fourth major...

If Zhao finishes this off, it'll be one of the greatest steals of all time, given where the reds were.

He's now lost deciders against Kyren and Waco - is the aura of invincibility slipping now I wonder.

It's tough being world champ

Sorry not decider against Kyren of course, where he just lost a lot easier!

He missed a really bad starter in the W.  Waco was unrecognisable from the player he met at the Crucible.  Much more like the one we'd seen earlier that tournament.

Zhao will always give you chances, and you have to take them when they come along.  If you don't, it can get ugly v quickly.

There was no money to win, mate.  About £8k matched on the World Champion losing from 5-3.  Not sure anything was matched below 1.1.  Certainly wasn't much if there was.

It's getting to the stage where I am seriously questioning if there's a future in this.  No point being right in the short-term if you can't trade around it.

When I say £8k matched on the World Champion losing from 5-3, I mean the match as a whole, both players.

CryCry - Thought the money would increase with the bigger names appearing - obviously not.
You probably get far more correct than me - frustating to get in a good positions and struggle to manage that position due to low liquidity.
Hopefully things will pick up as the season progresses.

Not sure what Ronnie v Chang ended up getting matched, but there was more money about on it to begin with.  I presume it was the TNT match (though if anybody is betting on it because of that, they need their bumps feeling, given how far behind it is!).

Ding v Baz was another match that deserved to have decent money on it, and I think that was less than half of what the Zhao match did.

The money just is not there.

Wonder what influence the commentators have on peoples bets - saying where the next pot/talking positional play etc - that's why there is more dosh on the tv table - maybe

Dunno, but if people are playing based on that, what they're not appreciating is they're betting on something that's already two or three shots in the past LaughLaughLaugh

Dunno what the pay is in the local area - Tickets £10-£25 - but maybe less - according to AI - wonder what the posh seats cost or may be unobtainable

Laugh - Shirley the final will be packed out - just the people who hand out the flowers/vases/chocs/massive cheques/cuddley toy/trophy will fill the place up. Or maybe that's just the China events.
