The buckets/pockets issue is also an interesting factor - but I've always thought it is a tricky issue, as after all if they are buckets then they are buckets for both players at the same time... |

Maybe so yes. Still see plenty players missing though, even if there are buckets around. I personally don't have the same issue many do with the pockets, even if they may be slightly easier than the past for sure. But know it's a modern debate. |

the issue I have with them is the gushing, promoting something that's largely fake
|
|
By:
also comparing to past eras makes the modern game look a lot better than the past, its 2 different games now no comparison

I agree on the big breaks gushing for sure - it is a bit easier to hit them now.
The issue I don't have as much is that it's still true that weaker players will lose to stronger players in general - I'm not sure it makes as much difference to actual results, but prob more so on shorter formats where luck also comes in. |

BBC going to be prioritising the O'Sullivan walkover over what looks to be the match-up of the round. Bonkers.

when 1st came in around middle of last decade there was advantage betting rags blind over all match lengths so it did make a difference thing now is its mostly factored in what matters the extent to how big they play as there is difference from tournament to tournament the UK for example was a lot different to these here |
|
By:
last years worlds was similar to the UK but 2023 worlds were like this
so they're setting them up differently |
|
By:
The UK was the tightest of the season, for sure. I still have these as being tighter than average, though.
Riyadh Season and World Open have been the bucketyist. |
